Yes! Fantastic post. The And 1 play by Simpson gave me the JY dunk vs Matt Haarms feels from 2020.

Situationally, it was very similar. You knew who had the pep in their step and you wanted to get them the ball late in the game.

And they made a play.

I started an identical thread, but will repeat it here:

March 7, 2020 - Rutgers defeats Purdue 73-70 in OT, as Geo Baker nails a game clinching three at Mackey.

March 6, 2021 - Rutgers defeats Minnesota at the Barn 77-70 in OT, as Jacob Young scores 23 points and seals the victory with an incredible steal at mid-court.

March 2, 2022 - Rutgers beats Indiana 66-63, as Ron Harper, Jr. drains a late three and shows Hoosier fans at Assembly Hall his huge stones.

February 26, 2023 - Rutgers makes a miraculous 19-point 2nd-half comeback and defeats Penn State 59-56 at Bryce Jordan Arena, holding PSU without a FG over the last 9+ minutes. A coming out party for Derek Simpson.

Just an incredible string of road wins in each of our NCAA years.

Ron Harper at Indiana will always be the best. Between the game winning shot and the opponent being Indiana it just doesn’t get better than that. Also that was the only real must win game most likely. 2020 berth was most likely sealed with the win against top ten Maryland and in 2021 there was a good chance we’d make it anyway without that win considering we got a ten seed.

Said it BEFORE the game in the game thread and it deserves its own thread imo…Pike teams win on the road when it counts. Period.

@Purdue in 2020
@Minny in 2021
@Indiana in 2022
@PSU in 2023

Hard to rank those…All so great.

The Purdue 2020 game was one of the most awesome and important games in 30 years easy. Geo’s performance late was one of the greatest and most satisfying I’ve experienced as a Rutgers fan. Legendary in my mind.

And this year we’ve been road warriors in Conference all year. If we got credit for the robbery in Columbus, we’d be 5-4 on the Big 10 road right now!
