Part of me thinks Jack Salmon is coasting so he has more grounds to shltcan Leminhayed. The other part of me says he's coasting because he doesn't know better.
They have not won double digit games since 2019. Haven’t won 20 games since 2011. Who could’ve possibly known this would hurt our RPI when we scheduled them?
Looks like we will need 15 SEC wins for sure.

The entire non conference schedule is bad. People on here defend it.
It sets us up for zero margin of error in the SEC to host, and even an average SEC season puts us on the bubble.
Again, most, if not ALL SEC teams have figured out how to schedule and the formula for garnering a high RPI. The schedule put together this season should have never been allowed.

It's even worse when you lose to those teams.
Someone in the baseball office should have a spreadsheet with the RPI formulas. It would probably almost always show that getting swept by a P5 team would still be better than sweeping Mt St Mary's in a weekend series. There's just too much at stake here to be making these boneheaded decisions.
At this point in time, that game should have certainly been cancelled.
But, we play at least 1-2 SWAC games every year. I don’t like it, but it’s been that way since the beginning of time. At least when they are late in the year you have the option to buy it out and cancel it….not sure why we didn’t.

One of those early non-con series HAS to be on the road at a P5 every year. I really don't even like the neutral site "tournaments" like Frisco, because you don't get the full credit for a true road games. It's still much better than playing a 300 at home 3 times. Travel somewhere early and play a solid team, and it will take so much RPI pressure off. You won't have to worry about playing Alcorn later.
Don’t think it has to be a “P5” as that’s not really a thing in baseball. The Sun Belt is literally a better league than the B1G some years. But in general I agree. Road series are great for RPI. Kentucky had an outstanding RPI last year from scheduling road series against teams like Elon, who aren’t great at all but generally fall in that Top 150 RPI range.
I was told Austin Peay was a good team but so many people after those loses. The lies we will tell ourselves.

Especially in a year we have the weakest SEC schedule we've played since the SEC started taking baseball seriously. We avoid 3 of the top 4 teams in the East (3 of the top 6 overall).

Their RPI is 203 and they sit 5th in the A-SUN. We should have beaten them easily. Auburn, the worst team in the SEC, took 2 of three from them. It’s a double whammy of a terrible nonconference schedule and our SEC schedule ending up being not that bad. We’ve played one legitimately good team so far (A&M). Everybody else is sub .500 in conference.

All that offense has sky rocketed Austin Peay up the RPI charts to 203.
You know we are in a bad spot as a team when we dream of hitting like Austin Peay. If we hit like them we might win just one game against Auburn like they did.
