The previous post sounded a lot like a shot over the bow about the Dinwiddie offense. Just wanted to let them know that LT and Dinwiddie are not, Huguenot, Warhill, Smithfield, Jamestown, York, Poquoson, Tabb, Bruton, Denbigh, Grafton, or EV.
No there is no worry about overconfidence and there is no worry about what might happen Dinwddie respects every opponent and understands the process of winning in the regular season and the post season. Dinwiddie will take the will right out of LHS and then you will see there confidence and jubilation as they realize they are one step closer to grand prize.
@Lafayette, you are exactly correct upsets do happen. I really would not consider it a major upset. Your team is unbeaten and have made a very successful transition back to 4a. I can promise you Coach Mills and the Dinwiddie team are not putting this game in the bank. In fact, most of the Navy Nation fans I know arent either.
Both teams will have to play their games to be successful. You made an excellent point about the two offensive touchdowns last week, but as Mbonape1 stated in an earlier post LT had the defensive tools to slow down the run and play 1 v 1 on our receivers. They did double Pope quite a bit.
If the Rams can do the same thing then game on. After watching some additional video I am a little concerned about the Rams blitz.

Well its just not a good idea to call out an offense that has avg 40+ a year in a much tougher district. Not sure LHS could go 5-5 in the Central year in and year out. Dinwiddie is now a proven product, to make a statement about one of the best offenses in 4a each year that has arguably the 2 best players in the state is not a sound argument. Since they just beat the 2nd best defense in the state on Friday for 2 scores in LT and no I am not considering LHS and the #1 defense if your wondering who that is, they will be wearing ALL NAVY on Saturday.
Navywife? Too funny. Wahoogen is a hoot and I do love his spirit. I am just not willing to discount the Rams. I have tons of confidence in Dinwiddie, but opt to keep my discussions to x's and o's. I dont hear you guys crowing. I guess its a matter of choice and respect for your opponents. I hope Wahoogen keeps it up. It does not offend me.
Thank you Navy and believe me THE COUNTRY BOYS aren't stopping! I do respect all of the opponents that THE COUNTRY BOYS play. Im just a realist and know there is noway you can stop all the weapons that Dinwiddie has!! Guys Im so excited for this team and the county. Fellas I was born and raised here went to college and came back home to teach in the school system. I love this place. I love to see the kids I have taught succeed on and off the field and Mills does a great job of preparing these kids for life just not football. I have seen some awful teams and some great teams but what Mills and his coaching staff have been able to do is remarkable. From where the program was to where it is now......its crazy! I remember students treating the game as a social event having no clue who was winning. Now I see them coming to the game with signs, paint all over their bodies,and hollering as soon as they come in the ticket gate . Navy Nation is a great fan base and I am proud to be a part of it!! Oh yea one more thing......COUNTRY BOYS!!!!
Wahoogen is a trip. I personally love his enthusiasm. I have heard others refer to Dinwiddie as The Country Boys also. To know the fan base, or Navy Nation, we are a very humble community as are our Coach and players.We all have confidence in our Generals, but take it one game at a time. Not really a shot across the bow but just the observation that no team is invincible.
You bring up an excellent point that I had not considered. Over confidence.
If the Rams can surprise with a couple of quick ones, we might just have a game and a Lafayette squad that's gonna' make the Generals earn it. I would like to see that. On the other hand, it just might piss the Country boys off and that won't be pretty.
As much as I believe it's Dinwiddie this year, there are too many past upsets to say it's not possible again. Lafayette is not undefeated for nothing. Despite the schedule, you still have to win the games and the Rams have been pretty decisive in doing so. They're good.

Yeah but lets be honest with ourselves. What we post on this board has ZERO impact on this game. I can assure you that the actual players at Dinwiddie had a scare against LT and will be buckled down and humble and working hard this week.
If Lafayette wins it will be because they out play Dinwiddie... Not bc of the opinions of the posters of either team.

I cannot speak for Wahoogen, but most know Navy Nation fans are generally positive with our post; however, whether irritating or not to see a teacher/mentor express this type of enthusiasm in the school/community is a breath of fresh air and inspiration to our student body. The barnyard is going to rock this weekend! You gotta believe!

Too bad but around here so many obligations and events going on. This Sunday is Colonial Williamsburg's Grand Illumination that draws from 15-20,000. The outlets are in full attack mode and the 75 or so restaurants here are all packed. On top of that on Saturday at 8 is the VT ACC championship game with Clemson. If the scheduled bus gets canceled (will know by end of day) my going may be in doubt as my usual associate to Lafsyette games cannot go and I am not inclined to travel alone.

I would just think that fans of the school/team would show up no matter where or what is going on! This is a chance to go to the state championship.
I totally agree - in the east with the very fine teams in the Battlefield along with others like LT, Heritage NN, EV and good ole Dinwiddie you never really know when you can back to this spot in the Semis again. And with all our skill players being Seniors I would not bet on next year!
