Third time in four years these two have matched up in a regional final. First time at Catholic though, let's get it started.

Tough match-up for Catholics corners but I'm sure they will have plan. Dudley has some extremely long wideouts that attack the ball. Got to make Hooker look average! Have no predictions 2 great teams and programs.

They might as well be in the same conference...they play every season. Its' like an unofficial conference rivalry.

X factor for Catholic is neutralizing Hooker and limiting his big plays. We played them first game of season and while they're an achieving Dudley team as usual they don't have that USUAL size and physicality they beat you up with. Usual athleticism and speed. Those kids have seen so much success with that system though they buy in and believe so much that makes them extremely tough still. I guess after seeing Catholic Friday take out the comment about Hooker and you could just as well be talking about Catholic almost.

I saw Catholic beat them last year, I will not see it this year but
will gladly enjoy playing the winner the next Saturday night.

Its gonna be a chessmatch dogfight. I heard people say the East Forsyth and Catholic was a title game, well this is way bigger. Both teams have their hands full. Can we stop the Red Machine? Can Catholic stop the many weapons that we have? This game is tough to predict.

Dudley has only played 2 close games all year long . Both on the road.Won against Hillside 32-26 in a 4th quarter comeback September 9th , lost against Page 23-22 in a thriller October 28th.Expecting nothing less than a classic this week when the 2 battle it out in another Regional showdown

Gonna be bitter cold. High only 41 on Friday in Charlotte
That's Coppertone weather in Guilford County.
P.S. It seems one of the Charlotte gentlemen has a slight discontentment with the lighting facilities at The Tarp. Is the lighting more suitable to your insatiable desires and needs at Reefer Stadium ?

Reefer Stadium hahahahahahahahaha that is a good one.
Catholic just got new lights installed I think 2 years ago so the lighting there is very nice. No disrespect to The Tarp, it was merely a joke.

Watching the Page/Dudley game points out a number of things for me. Page seems to have some success with screens vs Dudley's D. Catholic's has been very effective with screens this year especially vs East Forsyth.

I think Catholic will also be able to run the ball, it looked like Page was able to have a good amount of success on the ground. Also the Page front 7 was creating havoc all over the Dudley OL. Both CC and Page sport undersized front 7s, if Catholic can get penetration and get to Hooker early that will go a long way towards winning this game.

Forcing a couple turnovers will be key for Catholic. Like I said vs EF +2 in the TO margin will be huge for Catholic. Also making those TOs count and turning them into points will be key.

Now, Dudley is very, very good. They are going to bring it Friday night and I expect a great game.

I think CC wins by 1 score.

Being a UNC-Greensboro alumni, that weather won't bother Dudley. The wind cuts differently above I40 for some reason. Different type of cold. Can't wait for this game, though!!!!!

What I will say is that Dudley will not face a more sound team than Catholic, and Catholic will not play a more physical team than Dudley. They made Richmond look like a JV team earlier in the year.

Here is the question that Dudley has to answer. Can their secondary come up and play the run and also have the discipline to play the verticals and Waggles too. That's what beat East Forsyth in my mind. East had the power up front in my mind to beat CC but they lost the game on the edges (jet sweeps/off tackle runs), and in the pass game (Vertical/Screens). This biggest thing i've heard coaches say when they went up against the Wing T/Triple Option systems was it's impossible for High School scout teams to simulate the look they'll get on game night in practice. Their are just so many different formations and looks that can give young defensive players/coaches problems. When you only see this offense (ran the right way) once a year its really tough to stop. If Dudley can do that they could win by a couple scores I think. If they struggle with secondary run support and pass coverage on playaction like East did CC will win. If either team decides to put the ball on the ground multiple times throw out everything I said cause it wont matter. I will take Dudley in this one but wont be shocked at all if Catholic wins it.

It seems lockray is getting his Carl Thomas on , he's so emotional! Rcoraider was just giving his opinion about us. You going off because Scotland shut them out? If you know football you need to know game situation. Our defense shut them out as well. They scored on a pick six and and on a kickoff late in the game. And whats up with Dumley comment? Show some class. Scotland County nation should be ashamed of you. Go to your board

Just curious when did sc have a board I thought we were all free to comment. Everyone knows Dudley is a great program. I think they are the most talented team in the state personally. I know folks will say Mallard Creek but I disagree. I think SC is the third most talented team in the state. Next year I think SC will be the most talented team in the state because the majority of their D1 recruits are juniors or sophomores. Dudley is a complete team other than their awful kicking game but they are so good it rarely comes into play. I hope SC is fortunate to play them again because the amount of talent on the field will be sickening. Good look to all schools left except the ones playing SC!

The talent level would be sickening, but it'd also be funny to see Catholic once again beat a team with way better athletes and more future D1 athletes than the Cougars have. It's not big deal to do it at Catholic, but always great showing that just because you have a ton of great athletes doesn't mean you'll win.
Much respect to Dudley though, they are one of the classiest programs in the state led by Coach Davis who is a great coach and a great guy.

DBOYZ WILL BE IN FULL EFFECT FRIDAY NIGHT! This will be the best defense Catholic faced all year and one of the most explosive offenses they played all year. If we're talking film , I seen alot of things that we can exploit against Catholic. They love to drop back and protect the the quarters of the field against athletic receivers. Coach Davis is one of the coaches that know how to contain the Wing T , and we have the horses to contain it. A deep DLine to rotate and veteran big fast and strong linebackers 230 plus. On offense this is Hooker's team, I believe he makes a few big plays to get over the hump DBOYZ BY TWO TD'S

If your determining factor on talent is D1 recruits then its not close Mallard Creek by a long shot this year and next. If its actual production on the field that is an entirely different deal. MC has 17 or 18 D1 players with comitts or offers in the 17-18 class.

Both coaching staffs are very familiar with eachother, should be a great chess match between two of the top staffs in NC.

If that number is true then I'm wrong. I will wait to see if that pans out but if it is they must be a coaches nightmare to coach because nothing about them this year says 18 d1 players in terms of on field production. Production wise I think both SC and Dudley players are far more productive. I also think the level of d1 players and positions play factors in as well. I would say that White and McQueen along with Crossen and Hooker are far more impactful than any players that MC has at this point. Not hear to argue MC is great but this idea that they are just heads and shoulders above everyone on the field has been debunked for at least this year. I think both of these teams would stack up very well against MC. There would not be a huge talent disparity IMO. Now back to Catholic and Dudley two great programs - No debating that and it would be privilege to play either one if the scots advance. Nothing but respect! Same for the Creek.

I dont think D1 means better. I just see the 6 foot 245 lb olineman destroy the 6-4 275 lb kid week in week out.

The other thing that has been clear to me over the years is big time recruits. ( 4 and 5 star kids) especially the kids who have locked offers before their junior years ( which is most) lack focus and play without an edge. There heads are already in Knoxville or Tuscaloosa.

Give me a squad with one or two elite kids and a dozen of talented d2 type kids who are going into their senior seasons with something to prove. I will win alot of games.

I have seen D1 caliber and piss poor coaching also. I think its the overall culture of the team and staff. Getting the most out your players. For instance at Dudley you can be a D1 player all day. And if your head gets too big where you are not performing in the classroom and field, you can be replaced. So the D1 athletes at Dudley earn their spot respectively. Our players play with an edge as if they can be replaced. Thats why our players overs the years perform well in college and next level. Whether its the classroom or field.

Bite me? Thats cute...lol that was so elementary with your come back. I'm going let you live with that. Do you want another stab at it, before I go in on you on this site , chump I meant champ? Im pretty sure with your Boost Mobile plan you can look up Carl Thomas, and make sure you put in So Emotional. Which is the title to the song, because thats you all day.

I'm sure the D-Boyz haven't forgotten how CC came to The Tarp last year and limited such an explosive team. This has been the motivation all year. They're out looking for revenge. I know that CC will be the most sound team Dudley faces all year. The staff at CC has those young men ALL IN. I don't think Dudley will have an issue with this being a road game. They love having their backs up against the wall. Thats how most of the D-Boyz were raised. They've been tested at Hillside, Page, Davie twice, and a road victory against Richmond. I expect this to be a State Championship caliber game.
