OK so Maryland negotiated with the B1G to get more dollars up front. We did not.

Purdue, Indiana, Illinois have been getting those B1G dollars for years so they have no excuse.

We don't even get paid like the MAC teams do when we go in to Ann Arbor or Columbus to run the gauntlet.

Like most of the Republican Presidential candidates, our fan base has better things to do than go all in for a losing cause.

Perhaps the B1G could do something else for us now before the money starts to roll in 2020 or 2021.

How about just one or more non-monetary concession(s) to make the games more competitive? Keep it simple.

For example, for the next 4 years only, we get 5 downs to go 10 yards.

Or how about our defense gets 12 men on the field?

These ideas would not cost the B1G one dime and are totally within the league's power to control.

Any other bright ideas out there? Let's let Julie know she is not hamstrung here. We have options.

Joking aside, I will go on record with the prediction that next year the B1G will announce new TV deals which will pay more than predicted, which will be positive news for RU because the partial share will rise to a level higher than they are budgeting for when the new TV contracts take effect in 2018.

I suggest removing Fludd would be of more value than 12 on D or 5 downs on O.

5 downs....you can't be serious...we still have our pride.

Nah, that was eroded with this past September's academic transgressions and player arrest/dismissals.

And just to summarize where RU football is currently at: Rutgersal has made several "negative" and pessimistic posts, there has been at least one post longing for the return of the Jabu package, there have been a singlehanded number of posters offering justification for a starting quarterback who hasn't scored an offensive touchdown in three games, and general discourse on this board has recently been noticeably more civil because so many seem to agree that the current coaching staff simply is not capable of leading us to success.

Nah. Only Cornell gets a 5th down, and only when they play Dartmouth

Aside from the fact that the league doesn't really control rule changes, I like the way you think. Maybe we could require the opposing QB to tie one hand behind his back. At least that way when they beat us, they can say they did it with one hand tied behind their back.
