This is common in Texas. They have one of these in just about every school district in the DFW metroplex
That was probably funded by a dozen or so parents that decided to cut out travel ball

The entire new Hernando High School with all new athletic facilities for all the sports was 87 million.
So, if you're a family of 3 you're on the hook for over $10,000 for a high school football stadium. I bet they bring in some recruit to take your kid's spot on the team too.
I live in Carrollton GA we played Buford in the 6A state semifinal last year and won. Then lost on final because our cover of sports illustrated when he was a freshman QB played with a broken hand. If I remember correctly they had at least 2 players who's parents were ex NFL on the team and I think a ex NFL player coach. It's getting ridiculous in GA, you are correct, they recruit outside of the city even county to get players. The QB who backed up Juju last year here is a senior and has now left to the county school because they decided to recruit a QB from ATL who brought multiple players with him and said he wouldn't bring them unless he was the starter. It's 17ing ridiculous you go to game and don't know any of the kids on the field it's not kids from the area playing. High school football here has been ruined.
That's a loooot of Junior Mints those kids had to sell.
Excellent facilities are necessary if you want to attract the best players from around your area. You cant win without recruiting the top players for your high school team, am I right ? Just the next step. It is all about winning isn't it ? Maybe JA will copy this strategy.
Well - you're supposed to go to the school you're zoned for, or at least in the same school system if you "improve" the racial statistics by going to a different one. Sounds like they're getting players who don't even qualify to go to the school - some from other cities and maybe even other states.
If there was one thing the public school system did better than anything else, it was administering (mainly football, since it's so expensive to do elsewhere). Different sizes, playoffs, etc. All this recrootin is going to screw up that one very thing.

Zoning is a suggestion in this area, especially for athletes. My annual HOA neighborhood graduation banner usually has 3 to 5 different HS listed on it. We have a few rentals in the neighborhood and we’ve had several different D1 athletes / families move in and out over the past decade. I’m not in the Buford school district, but we have Buford grads every year.
When you have a a city school district inside a massive county district full of D1 athletes, it’s good to have flexible out of district requirements.

Stadiums like this made Texas change bond funding laws about 6 years ago. Now Texas ISDs can't tack on funding to bond referendums for athletics, it has to be its own voted on item. In November my local district had 5 bonds for vote and the only one that didn't pass was the football stadium renovation.
Well tbh I was referring back to the post about Jackson and Madison area private schools recruiting football players from other schools such as Calloway or whatever and giving free tuition so they can play. Forget about whether he is smart enough to pass at a private school. No doubt they will tutor him. Its all about winning
