Fir the most part we have taken the ball away more then we lost it. i think franklin beat us 2 to 1 on turnovers unless you count fake punts. They failed miserably there

I will have to look. Most of our games we start a little slow on offense. The longer the game goes the better we play. We were uo on Franklin 9-0 at halftime. Scored 28 the second half. the Newton game they were up 17-6 at the half. We had the worst 1st half all season that game. all 4 fumblems came in the 1st half. They didnt score after halftime and only got 77 total yards after half

How well does Shelby play when the barometric pressure is less than 30?

It's no problem, I was just asking because Ohio threw out all these possibilities, and one of them has yet to even happen for Hibriten (a game without any penalties).

So, I don't see how the odds of all of that happening in one game are the same as Hibriten having some turnovers.

.... a neutral location for this game would be at the well lit, beautiful majestic banks of the catawba river, Freedom High Stadium
I would vote for that, but well lit it is not, in fact one of the darker stadiums we played in this year and the sun was out for a good part of it.

Because anything can happen on a Friday night when u are talking about 15-18 year old kids... We had at least 1-2 games where we win the TO battle by 3+... Yea I know the competeion wasn’t the best but the players still have to be in position to make plays.... I was just wondering what your thoughts were if the football gods were smiling on the Panthers Friday night and everything went their way??

Ok. And I am not saying either one of these teams "can't" win Friday night (that would be Gregg who said that about Shelby). If things go perfect for Hibriten, of course Hibriten will win.

I just think Shelby is going to win. That's all.

Yes either of these teams can win Friday night. most teams this late have a good shot depending on how they play. I am wirried about Robinson though. Hard to beat a college team, lol!

Shelby gave up 58 points in 2 games vs Belmont South Point. A team offensively very similar to Hibriten but with no Gee Witherspoon, who averages 20 yds per attempt

You have no where near the offensive line that South Point had. If you don't have a great offensive line, a good defense will eat up the option. I see the Golden Lions eating your RBs Friday night.

I respect Freedom but last year I watched Shelby dismantle them 49-0 and only gave up like 20 yards

Zero bearing on Shelby vs Hibriten however, but continue on ;)

Just remember it took a fake punt to lead us to our ONLY score last week. If we don't do a great job on defense we could be in trouble.

Patsfball likes to remember the good ole days. With no trophies, wins against Cleveland county is the next best thing.

I can not believe the jibberish that consumed pages 7-9 of this thread....can we get a moderator to delete them? Really took away from the hype of the thread. It was like watching two sloths in a UFC cage battling it out.

I think we all expected a bit of a let down game after the South Point game. We were at least a 3 TD better team than MP. We played down to their level. Fortunately it wasn't against a better team or we would have lost. Granted MP had a good defensive front....our o-line didn't do us any favors this past Friday. I feel that these guys will get back up for this game. It is the western finals. I think you see more intensity out of our squad this week. Defense wins championships, and we have one of the best there is.

South Points "bone" worked so well because they had really incredible linemen. I remember hearing prior to the first South Point game that Coach Ware had watched film on South Point and said that their #72 (I believe it was) was the best offensive linemen he had ever watched on film. Considering he has been watching film for 20 years now, that's a huge statement. As a lineman, it was actually entertaining to watch South Point's linemen. They did an incredible job of getting to our linebackers and sealing them off. Our LBs rose to the occasion in the second game and thus the victory!! No way does Hibriten block as well as South Point. I believe this will be the difference in the game....the trenches. Our defense will be in hot pursuit all night. Word is Hibriten never throws the ball and when they do rarely is it completed. I see a lot of three and outs coming for them Friday night. Over the last several years, we have faced a lot of these "great" running backs only to shut them down. The same will happen this Friday.

It's exciting....it's the Western Finals and the winner goes to the State Championship.

As a football fan with no dog in this fight..i can't see a total of 28 points being scored..the following are simply observations and opinions
..i think both defenses are incredible..fast physical and ATHLETIC...althougb two totally different styles both offenses have same strength and weakness..i don't think either offensive line is very good...i think both offenses expose defenses with inferior speed and athletes...therefore I see both teams having fits moving the ball...hibriten will need to hit a few plays in passing game and Shelby must have some sort of run game to help QB..should be great atmosphere...still Calling for Shelby by 3
