That is our major problem. A lineman from A&M catches our wide receiver from behind when he is running full out. We have no speed anywhere. We had no chance of containing Manziel or Patterson or anyone with speed. We are even slow in getting out of the huddle. We are down all those points and we had no sense of urgency when we started to move the ball.

Next, Tyler Russell is the best throwing QB MSU has ever had. I have watched Bama twice now and the only way to move the ball against them is to PASS. That is when LSU moved it and that is when we moved it. That is when we moved it against A&M. Our game plan should be something from the Patriots playbook. It should be 80% passing. There should be alot of short 3 and 5 step drops and ball distribution. Short crossing routes. Run the ball as a change up. The balanced **** needs to go away when you play a team like, Bama, A&M and LSU. Tyler Russell has done a very good job of sustaining drives with passing when he gets it out of his hands quickly.

Did any coaches watch game film of A&M? It sure did not look like it. The first half looked like we had no idea what their offense was like.

Overall, we need to drop some of "the sister's of the poor" games. You need to play better talent in the non conference games to better prepare you for the SEC west. One warmup game and that should be it.

But maybe that is our only path to Bowls. Maybe we can't ever get enough talent to truly compete. If that is reality, then why bother.

I thought the exact same thing during the play.....

I said to myself, any real playmaker takes that for a TD. face it, we are an average team with average players. nothing wrong with that, though, especially at MSU.

so, not sure why it's a 'problem' as you say.

For what it's worth, 94 is a first round draft pick if he comes out (possibly top 10). He's a freak athlete at about 6'4" 250. I suppose he is what we had hoped Autry would be.

The speed differential was absolutely glaring yesterday. Full speed compared to slow motion glaring. We are so far behind the upper echelon SEC teams in overall talent and speed that it is depressing. That is where top notch coaching has to take over to keep us in these high level games. We are not anywhere close to getting that either. Last week we looked like boys among men. Yesterday we looked like girls among men.

We struggled beating "the sister's of the poor", except for the first game. No. 1 problem, in my opinion, is lack of desire by the defense. Grabbing by the jersey ain't going to get it. Add to that we're so slow it looks as if we are running in molasses, and a blow out game is the end result
