I was in this situation. During one of the hurricanes that rolled through several years ago- I stayed at my ocean front condo on Myrtle Beach. (family get away spot) which is 5 stories up. I happened to bring some limited edition Makers Mark. Nothing too special. It is a very surreal, kind of scary feeling while sipping Bourbon during this event. It felt like an apocalyptic scenario. Alone, ghost town, extremely bad weather
At first I was debating on wether or not to drink anything incase something happened and I needed to be 100% sober to evacuate. Probably not the best decision to drink half a bottle. But my thought at the time was that the building is hurricane proof and I am 5 stories above ground. I should be good. And luckily I was.
