....1) In hindsight, the game was probably lost on the first drive of the third quarter after Auburn's fumble. Carroll gets sacked on first down from the 32. Then we get the pass interference call to put us at the 24. Then, Dixon gets the ball up the gut and has two gaping openings. One to the right, one to the left. He would've easily gotten a first down, maybe a touchdown. Instead, he runs right into the pile. I swear, his vision absolutely sucks. On second down, he loses a yard. On third down, Carroll threw a perfect pass that McCrae dropped at the marker, which would've been a first down. Then the missed field goal.
...2) Auburn very nearly scored a couple of times after that. They had 2nd and goal from the two. And then the weakness of the spread was exposed. No power running game. They tried running it in from the shotgun twice. No dice. Then they missed that chip shot field goal.
...3) We had pretty good success on the spread option play to Ducre. He was getting 5 yards/pop for a while there. In fact, in the first half, we would've converted our first third down on that play, except for an illegal motion penalty. Don't know why we went away from it.
