A few other observations from the game

1) I was happy to note that the Aubie fans around me weren't nearly as douchy as they could have been. I got the impression that most of them were relieved to have won.

2) I talked quite a bit with the couple next to us (season ticket holders/boosters). Evidently a lot of the Cam love is gone. The lady even used the word "mercenary" in describing her perception of his attitude, which I found amusing. She was noting that Fairley regularly returns to campus, goes out to the bars and buys students drinks, etc. and that Cam had only bothered to return for Pro Day. Their feeling was that despite all the hype and posturing, Cam never really considered himself part of the "Auburn Family".

3) They all think Chizik is a football genius.

4) State came out flat yesterday, and by the time the team got it together mentally, it was too late. Having said that, yesterday could have been a complete, blowout disaster. I credit the players for playing hard until the bitter end. Two thoughts immediately popped into my head at the end of the game: a) The Kang/Madkin would have pulled a win out their butts and b) That was the same crushing disappointment I felt when the Titans lost the Super Bowl at the goal line.

I think Chizik needs to live in Vegas. That is one lucky dude. What is it, like 10 games he's won that have been 6 pts or less...and that's in-a-row close games (something crazy like that).

Reading some post on 6 pack makes me feel dirty. Yes we didn't play a clean game but we never gave up and seeing us play as hard as we can gives me hope. We got some bad calls no doubt but I don't think we lost because of Ref's but three things, 1) we got killed on special teams all day, we started with poor coverage, field position and they started just the opposite.
2) just bad clock management and play calling at the end of the game.
3) way too many big plays on defense and poor tackling all day long, where are our ends and lb'ers?

I just don't get the feeling Lsu is gonna kill us like some, I believe we will play much better, but that's the wool I have going into the season and I haven't lost all of it "yet".

Other than not attempting to throw a pass at the goal line, I thought the clock management was pretty good. Or maybe.... whenever I think of bad clock management I always think of the hatter so any little thing doesn't bother me as much

Our clock management was perfection with the exception of not getting 2 plays out of those final 10 seconds. Which by the way, that other play finished at 14 seconds when Dan was calling the timeout, but they only gave us 3 seconds back... But still, we marched almost 70 yards on them and were ready to punch it in with no time left on the clock.<div>
</div><div>At the point, we were using the clock to our advantage... People are stupid to think otherwise.</div>

This was my 8th straight trip to Auburn and probably my last. The fans used to be pretty cordial and actually quite nice. They as a whole have been "ok" the last 2 trips, but many more fans being very rude and acting like complete a**holes. After 8 straight trips I will not make it 9. I used to actually speak nice about that place and how it was a fairly fun trip, but their prick fan base has taken on the personality of their prick head coach.

I've changed my team from AL to the Jacksonville State.***
I noticed the douchebaggery from their fans at the game last year...IN STARKVILLE!</p>

We made a first down around the 20 yard, clocked stopped to adjust chains, we let 10 to 12 seconds tick away, this in itself was valuable time wasted. If we had called time and all things equal we still would be first and goal at the two with additional time we left tick away. I believe we would have gotten at least one more play and maybe two.

It's all judgement, it's what I thought Mullen was gonna do. I ain't mad because he didn't, just saying.
