the average football game has 4.9 touchdowns in 3 - 3-1/2 hours, the average soccer game has 2.5 goals in a little under 2 hours. Please explain to me how soccer has significantly less scoring per minute than football does.

A football game is 60 minutes in length and a soccer match is 90 minutes in length. We realize that a team can't score during a timeout. The ratio is a little different if you consider only playing time.

Does real time magically stop when the football clock is stopped? Is it somehow exciting to sit through yet another football timeout? Hell, the 17ing timeouts are even worse than the huddle.

Your argument was based on the amount of scoring per minute in the two sports. You should only use actual playing time to determine that ratio. But no, you used length of the overall game. Hell, I know neither team will score when there is a timeout in football. Please tell me you understand the difference.

Now if you freaking think soccer is just more entertaining than football, then fine. Say it is and I will quit arguing with you.

The game clock has absolutely nothing to do with real time in football. Hell, if they changed the rules and stopped the clock between each play and made each quarter only 3 minutes long, the game would still take a little over 3 hours to play and would still have about 5 touchdowns, but using your logic you'd now say that there was a touchdown scored about every 2 minutes in football.</p>

I don't recall ever seeing a WR do a swan dive after getting looked at by a CB. And basketball players never fall backwards and slide for five feet to draw a charging call. I hate flopping in soccer, but people who see football as the portrait of masculinity need to examine it a little further (particularly the "exchange" from center to QB). And don't even get me started on MMA.
