A&M in Top 4, LOU falls

I think Washington and UL are both better than A&M. God please kick me in the nuts for saying that about UL.

A&M has a couple more chances to lose and OSU could lose to Michigan (could create a big dilemma for committee if OSU beats Michigan) but Washington and Clemson aren't losing. Alabama has tough games left, but they're Alabama. Louisville is a long, long shot to make it at this point. I think it ends up being 1: Alabama, 2: Clemson, 3: Washington, 4: OSU after OSU beats Michigan and wins the Big 10.

I can't really complain about not being in the Top 4 as a Louisville fan...but if I'm a Washington fan I am throwing things at the TV. This is Texas A&M schedule and they have 1 loss and their best OOC Opponent was a 3-5 UCLA.

9/3 UCLA W 24 - 31
9/10 vs Prairie View A&M W 0 - 67
9/17 @ Auburn W 29 - 16
9/24 vs Arkansas W 24 - 45
10/1 @ South Carolina W 24 - 13
10/8 vs Tennessee W 38 - 45
10/22 @ Alabama L 14 - 33
10/29 vs New Mexico State W 10 - 52

A&M's schedule looks good to me. No way Clemson is undefeated against that schedule.

There isn't one team in the nation that would be undefeated against that schedule.

Not good enough to be over a unbeaten Washington...IMO....and Clemson unbeaten and won at CFP Top 10 Auburn and at CFP Top 25 FSU to go with beating #7 Louisville

Having a favorable schedule will knock you out of the playoffs, not help. I like the committee rewards tough schedules. And will leap frog teams even if they didn't lose.

Washington has at least two more bowl teams and Top 20 Colorado in the conference championship. They win out, they're in.

Auburn is better than FSU. Bama better than Clemson. I think UL's schedule is not as strong as A&M's.

Wasn't my point...would Texas A&M be unbeaten playing Louisville schedule. Would Texas A&M be unbeaten playing Ohio State schedule-(@ Oklahoma and @ Wisconsin)......yet they are 4th...really....

Washington unbeaten and has the 32nd toughest schedule...Ohio State has 1 loss and has a tougher schedule than Texas A&M...

Where are Clemson and UL?

OSU will vault TAMU if it beats UM. Washington probably vaults TAMU if it wins out. If TAMU and UL win out, but neither wins it's conference, TAMU is in over UL.

Clemson 108, Michigan is 78....both Unbeaten and ranked ahead of Washington. The Huskies ranking is 32nd and Louisville with 1 loss is 53rd.

And also, didn't defend Louisville in this...was defending a undefeated Washington. I have no real issue with A&M over Louisville...both 1 loss teams but do have a issue with a 1 loss team over a unbeaten team that played a decent schedule.

I believe that 32nd toughest schedule was before the season started. Sagarin currently has Washingtons SOS as #62 and A&M's SOS at #23. Oregon and Stanford crapping the bed hasn't done Washington any favors at all just like Houston crapping the bed ain't helping UofL any. Now I can't blame it all on Houston cause having Charlotte & Marshall on the schedule isn't doing UofL any favors either. Strength of schedule is one reason I wasn't all excited about the 3 year deal with WKU. Now granted that first year of that deal at least UofL does open with Alabama.

I highly disagree with A&M at 4. I think Washington should be in there right now (not that it will matter, because only Alabama is going to represent the SEC in the playoff)

I also think Clemson is the weakest team that deserves to be in the top 4, and Alabama, Washington, or Michigan would destroy them.

You asked how TAMU would do playing UL's and Clemson's schedules. From the won-loss model, TAMU's schedule is worlds tougher than either of those teams. The Bowl standings are usually a snapshot of right now. As I said before, losing one game to the best team in the country on the road is better than Washington at the current moment. Washington will likely surpass TAMU if it stays undefeated and wins its conference, even if TAMU wins out.

Most didn't feel Marshall would be this bad heading into this year.

I did. UL fans kept touting that game as one where UL would be playing a tough team on the road. It did not make sense. Most of the arguments from Card fans came from the history of that matchup. That was irrelevant when you look at what Marshall returned this year from last. I actually marked my calendar this year to remember to revive that thread after the Marshall game, but decided it was just not worth it. Sometimes I actually exhibit common sense.

Is it really worlds tougher....Texas A&M schedule...minus Bama and Auburn.

UCLA 3-5
Prairie View A&M (FCS) 5-3
Arkansas 5-3
South Carolina 4-4
Tennessee 5-3
New Mexico State 2-6

Clemson played and won at Auburn....they played @ FSU and Louisville @ Home. Now Texas A&M they played Tennessee at Home and I would take FSU over Arkansas and they played both Tennessee/Arkansas at home or in the state of Texas. I could easily see aTm losing 2 and I also mentioned Ohio State. The Buckeyes played at 3 Top 15 teams on the road and went 2-1.

Texas A&M shouldn't be ahead of Ohio State in the first place...won @ #14 Oklahoma, won @ Top #8 Wisconsin and lost by 4 @ #12 Penn State.

Clemson as the weakest ? Their strength of schedule is 18th while Michigan's is 49 and Washington is in the 60's

Like your confidence...good luck against everyone on your remaining schedule except the last game. Love our chances with #8 under center.
Boston College has a decent defense. They may put a lick or two on #8. Just sayin.

Bobby schemes/gameplans like Michelangelo for his big games agsinst rivals and farts thru the rest of the schedule.

From the lackluster performance against Duke and UVa (football not academic, obviously), UofL should just worry about the next game -not NYD bowl projections.

The defense should allow for wins. Neither BC or Wake will be able to outscore Jackson and "getting a lick on #8 easier said than done"...IMO

I guess more UL fans should be on the committee.

No...the committee got Louisville ranking correct. Can't put them based on SOS over aTm and Ohio State with the 1 loss teams. What I said in my first post in this thread had no issue with our ranking but did have a issue with aTm over a unbeaten Washington and later in this thread with them over Ohio State.
