I'm just hoping we were a bit caught off guard with their game plan. Our corners were awful
our defense is soft. the bears at work were right this time (full acknowledgement that they always say this, but this time, they are right). we look like **** and that is the truth.

You're problem is you don't know UAB. UAB held their own with State. Last week UAB destroyed Troy. Troy is beating Duke at the moment.

UAB is going to be a lot better this year... believe it. My biggest problem is we never made one single adjustment to combat the deep ball. They burned us on that **** 4 times. 4!!!!!! Other than those 4 plays (I'm not including the "trick play" in that), we had a decent day. But give UAB some credit on those... they put the ball right where they needed to and it worked.
As usual, you're overreacting. They caught us off guard with their game plan. Our safeties sold out to stop the run and they made us pay. The real problem to me is us not adjusting.
Will face much better up tempo offenses in SEC play: Texas A&M, Auburn, Ole Miss. Our DBs were awful today and must improve for us to be successful in SEC play. This give us reasons to be concerned when we get to conference play! It was also troublesome to see UAB run right up the middle and score early in the game! I am sure some of this can be fixed with adjustments, but it we did not look like an upper diversion SEC team today. We have a lot of work to do.

Our d-line was inconsistent today, but we have a good unit there. We have players at CB, however, I question their preparation. One thing that bothers me is that it takes us longer to quit repeating mistakes than any other team in the league. We do dumb *** ****, then we repeat it, or try and force it to work. In the end, I think we're stuck with these ****** type performances, it's gone on for three seasons. Might as well come to expect it.
Seemed like the entire d-line would not bother rushing at all on those bombs. It was like they were just pulling up at a scrimmage.
There is a reason we've only beaten ONE top 25 team in Mullen's five plus years. We beat the Bears in 2009, his first season and are 0-16 since then against teams that finished in Top 25. One thing I'll give him credit for: We don't ever lose the games we are supposed to win....like Jackson State, UAB, USM, MTSU, Troy, Kentucky. And we do beat the Bears almost every year. Although he is 1-1 against Freeze.
