So you do support voter ID?
As said in the post you just responded to- 'currently, I present a photo ID confirming my address when I vote. I dont take issue with that specific requirement or experience.'

If you are referring to a different situation or proposed process, you would need to explain it for me to respond.

Do you have an issue with every American citizen presenting a photo id to vote?

see this is the point. It’s a simple yes or no.

you don’t want to say yes bc you know it’s ludicrous.
You don’t want to say no bc then you’d have to agree with republicans.

It is not a simple yes or no because the devil is in the details.

- As already stated twice, I am fine with my current voting process where I present a photo ID. It does not seem overly burdensome and there are multiple accepted alternate ways to prove ID, to ensure people are ultimately allowed to legally vote.
- I would not just blindly say I support any law which requires photo ID to vote because my support would depend in part on which IDs are acceptable vs rejected. As an example, if a law stated a passport or current driver's license were the only 2 forms of accepted photo ID, I would not support that law.

Like many issues- you want a simple black or white answer and you dont consider or dont care about all the nuance and detail around the issues.

Ensuring elections are safe, accessible, and accurate is important. If there is a large voter fraud issue, that needs to be addressed. Like other fraud, if it were an issue then a ton of people would be tried and jailed...but that isnt happening. It isnt happening because it isnt actually a widespread issue.
Our current election processes result in safe, accessible(barely), and accurate elections.

Do y’all require ID from people to shovel your bullshart?
Must defend cult leader at all costs…

the next time you, or anyone, reports to me that they, themselves, in person, voting, did not have a voter roll and have to prove who they were will be the first. I’m all for only citizens voting and having registered voters vote in their voting place. Never seen it otherwise and never have had a single person who is all up in arms about some MAGA BS confirm they’ve voted without ID. I have had all of them, when asked a very simple question, get angry because this wide scale fraud is surely happening somewhere because leader says so.

how low on the MAGA totem pole are you that you have the responsibility of me and glfr?

Conservatives have been pushing since since long before Trump was a democrat!!

I wouldn't expect you to know that though b/c youve never been a conservative. Ever.

To be honest I did NOT show an ID last election. I think I need to show something…I don’t it think it’s to much to ask for. I’m strongly for it. However to Gilfr credit what ID works. We don’t all, especially old folks have drivers license and many many don’t have a passport …I know I’m from MS and I can tell you most of my family has no passport. So maybe you need a birth certificate that’s easy to get ..but what if it’s your maiden name so now what . I do think voter ID should be the law. I strongly support it . Just what is that ID?

Yeah, I understand you think its absurd for me to not commit to a concept without knowing details. But I provided a very reasonable scenario where the details would matter. If that gets a facepalm from you, I think it is more telling of how you approach social and governmental issues.

And if your facepalm is in response to my comments about how election fraud isnt widespread...well that is just reality. Not sure why you would react in such a way to well documented reality.

pushing for what, i have voter ID. the whole premise is a dog whistle. Embarrassingly, I voted for Trump twice, so only briefly was I not a conservative...

Do you ever look in the mirror and ask yourself how you are so sure of who an anonymous person on SPS is? I'm not going to go back too far in my posting history, but here are a couple of pre-insurrection posts from before I was turnt libural....

Where? I've always had to have DL and show them in the voter rolls who I was. Was turned aways once when my voting location had changed and I was unaware...

I have made the choice to simply ignore certain posters as I feel that they relish their ignorant stance, and are simply too stupid to be aware of their idiocy........the art of ignoring has been very satisfying.

That said, whenever I want to verify that in this world, there are simply some very stupid people, and even a commoner like myself, must front time to time, cross paths with them, then I read the posts of certain posters, and always find comfort in my favorite quote:

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt. -Abraham Lincoln.

Not Lincoln. Should've remained silent.

If you miss more than one election, you will likely get kicked off the rolls. So make sure you visit the courthouse a few months before to get reinstated.

Make sure it's a government issued photo ID, and that the photo looks real close to what you actually look like too. Best bet is to get a Passport as soon as you can. Only takes about 3 mos at the most to get.

If poll workers give you any guff, don't get pissy and leave. Fill out a provisional ballot and follow up to make sure it gets counted.

These liberals'll do anything to keep a redneck from voting.

you know....I have attributed that quote to Mark Twain for many a year, so I went a looked for when and where he first said it (speech or book, or just generally attributed to him), and found that the quote is actually attributed to Abraham Lincoln.......so, if you do a little research, there is some question surrounding who to attribute it to......so happy to correct my statement, and simply add that there is a proverb about holding ones tongue

for quick reference:
some background on the quote "better to remain silent......."

The premise of voter id and conservatives pushing for it is real and has been around for a while.

a conservative would know that. Hell a liberal would know that.

and if it’s a dog whistle just pass the damn thing so you can use it as leverage to get something you want.

believe it or not but there are places in America that don’t require proper identification to vote. That should bother all US citizens

TN definitely requires photo ID to vote with a small population exempted.
Yea they do but my ancient poll worker didn’t ask for anything ….my wife and I discussed seemed odd but they weren’t asking
