Is this at a Bar/Club, or at a friends get together lol?? Always party like Motley Crew, but not done the bar nights since maybe the same time you said 2017/2018ish. ***** too expensive, and don’t want to deal with sausage festivals around Madison

The year we played in the Music City Bowl. Stayed an extra night downtown.

My initial knee jerk response is NYE 1993 at the Midnight Rodeo in Shannon complete with a case of Asti, but surely I’ve tied one on since then. Memory of those things just got deleted I guess.

NYE for 95~1996 for my future wife, and only because she wanted to go out. She was ghostly ill that night but still insisted we go to Hal & Mal's. She was completely miserable; I took care of her, but I balled out. We married in '96 and she never wanted to do it again... Started calling it 'amateur night'.

Whatever year we played Michigan in the Gator Bowl. That was a fun trip. Normally I am busy chasing deer and pretty worn down. I rarely make it past 9:00 any night but especially in deer season.

Not the last, but the best/worst; 1999-2000. Y2K was supposed to kill all of the computers. Got seriously tore down. Next day, had to go in to work to check the computers. They were fine. I was not!

I'm 53 and I'd guess it's prob been close to 10 years. As I saw somebody on Twitter say the other day, if I'm up at midnight tonight it'll be because I'm going to the bathroom.

Probably around 1977.
Our oldest child was born January 2, 1978. Until they were all grown, we spent New Year’s Eve with them and then, after they were grown, we were too old to want to.
No regrets.

No shame in that game. Early bedtime is one of the best blessings in life.

Who cares what time it is if you get laid? That's my goal tonight. Should be the easiest day of the year right!?

December 31 2022 in New Orleans

I saw Billy Strings perform at Lakefront

The show ended at around 12:30 am NYD 2023

I got in the car at 12:45 to drive back to Hattiesburg

The fog was getting bad around Slidell and Louisiana Highway Patrol had roadblocks keeping people from taking I-10 E to Mississippi

I wound up driving 40 mph from Slidell to Poplarville and got to Hattiesburg at 4 am New Year’s Day…

One thing I’ve realized is I do much better getting a hotel & driving in the morning now. Saw Toad the Wet Sprocket at Sanger in Hattiesburg a few months ago. Wasn't looking forward to the drive back & then work. So got a hotel on north side of I59-US49 interchange. That was money well spent. Got a good night sleep & was at work by 9:30. Easy peasy. It was a heck of a concert too.

I thought about getting a hotel room in Slidell that night but decided against it.

One good thing about that foggy night was that there weren’t many crazy people driving I-59 north.

There was at least one reported accident on I-10 over Ponchartrain because of the fog. Fortunately I left early enough and got to Slidell fairly quickly…

I can't remember but it was probably around 2012 or so. About to go to bed now and won't get up tomorrow until I get hungry or have to pee after daylight (whichever one comes first).

1974 - the band I was working with had a NY Eve gig at a resort, it was hosted by a nurses association and they were destressing big time. We got a lot of invites to the ladies hotel rooms................

2002. It was in a previous life. She made the night miserable, and topped it by calling an end to our marriage.
