Field of 68 is acting like we have to many players and it’s gonna cause problems
Sounds like some stupid **** Cal would say after 2015.

Pope going to just absolutely abuse his 'burst' play rotations and try to run teams out of the gym

He's already proven he doesn't pick favorites based on rankings or hype and everyone should feel their playing time is earned off of hustle and analytics.

Last guy decided his starting line up before they even showed up on campus and stuck with it all year SMDH

It's just a natural curiosity for me cause it's still fresh and you just naturally want to compare but I don't think there's anyone who want to trade our current roster for the one in Fayetteville is there? It seems the chicken money was supposed to buy him the best rosters available and it hasn't seem to happen yet. Seems we definitely benefited from the split thus far.

I'm so glad I deleted twitter and don't care about that stuff so I don't have to constantly throw out flaming hot takes like some of these dudes paying for checkmarks.

I'm positive Pope has kept Oweh in the loop at every single moment and roster decision and Oweh knows he's got a spot here when he gets his feedback and withdraws from the draft.

And I'm sure Pope and donors have worked out his NIL when he comes back too lol.

What a dumb take

He’s definitely a good player who adds more depth and versatility in the backcourt. I do have to admit that I’m a little bit surprised he’s the one we allegedly broke the bank for after seemingly backing down from bidding wars on other players who seemed to have more proven star potential.

It’s an interesting approach we’re taking. We definitely have a lot of depth and shouldn’t drop off much at the 6-10 spots in the rotation, but I’m not sure we have as much star power 1-5 as some other teams will. Hopefully ours will prove to be the correct strategy.

Wow, massive get for Pope.

I am shocked Florida let him get away

It's crazy that a guy who averaged 7 ppg, 2 rebounds and 1 assists gets $2 million+

I don't see how this is sustainable long term.

Does this count as the shooter everyone says we need? 33% for his career with less than one made three per game.

Seems like we still need a guy who is a proven 3 point threat
Did you forget to switch accounts? You went from "big get" to your usual "Eeyore" take all in the same thread.

CBS sports has Kam Williams ranked at number 44 and thinks he may become one of the most exciting players in the country. Pointed out he has strong analytics with 40% from deep and his defensive numbers. Also said at 6-8 he is what the protype player in the pro's looks like with the attributes he has.

So yet another very good defensive player on the roster with the likes of Quaintence, Aberdeen, Diaboute and Oweh. Has to be one our most athletic teams over time.

You know it could be all you delusional Florida football fans care more about football than what has made your school relevant the last 15 years basketball .

Yeah? You think fan support is why Aberdeen transferred?

Come on, mate. Kentucky blew UF away on the offer. Kentucky had extra money to spend and Aberdeen was willing to take it.

I like both players, but Aberdeen can play point guard, and he's a better defender than Griffen. Both are comparable shooters.

This is a huge pickup, and will be an experience upgrade from Lewis as our backup.

My best guess about rotation:

G - Lowe - Johnson - Perry
G - Aberdeen - Chandler - Johnson
G - Oweh - Williams - Noah
F - Mo D - Jelavic - JQ
C - JQ - Garrison - Moreno

That's just absurd depth. I only put JJ as the backup at point guard due to Pope trying to keep him "fed." Aberdeen would be the natural backup point guard but I just can't see Pope playing Johnson as strictly a third-string guard.

I love having Jasper Johnson be given the chance to develop over the course of two years, before he likely leaves for the NBA as a sophomore or maybe even a junior.

Someone in the know said word on the street was that UK's NIL is about double what many were reporting.

If true, we're going to be landing premium talent for years to come!
Lowe/Aberdeen/Perry
Oweh/Johnson
Williams/Chandler/Noah
Jelavic/Dioubate
JQ/Garrison/Moreno

I have a similar rotation. There are tons of fun lineup combinations to play with thanks to the versatility of the roster. I think I might actually prefer starting Aberdeen at PG with Oweh & Williams on the wings. That trio would be super athletic & a tough matchup on both ends.

I’m also hoping that Jelavic can win the PF spot bc without knockdown shooters on the perimeter, we’ll need someone at the 4 to keep defenses honest & maximize spacing for our perimeter guys to attack the basket. And, he’s no bum, defensively, & can add secondary rim protection. Foul trouble should be nonexistent with so many interchangeable parts.

I don't remember this guy at all. I saw our game with them of course, and a couple of their other games, but don't recall his being a key player. Was he backing up Clayton? His stats for the games he did start are impressive though.

The depth is 90s-level, without exaggeration. When Jasper Johnson is possibly your fourth or fifth guard/wing player, you know you're dealing with elite depth.

Kentucky will be coming at opponents in relentless waves next year, with legitimate length at all positions.

Do we have any updated preseason rankings? I see some have us as low as 16th lol. But I know that was before we added some pieces.

Also, today's add, the news of our $20mil NIL, and having our roster complete.. warrants this gif. I use it sparingly, but I think it's deserved.

On 3 had us at #5 before the Aberdeen commit.

I'm not super impressed with the teams ahead of us either.

#1 Houston
#2 Purdue
#3 Duke
#4 Louisville
#5 Kentucky

Goodman said he also had us at #5 before today, but now has us ahead of Louisville.

A healthy JQ probably puts us as #2.

And I just don't see how we aren't top5 for sure, but probably should be more like top3 and even a case for #1 preseason. Like someone posted above, we almost have two starting lineups.
Pope is a excellent X and O coach. (I’d like him to make those adjustments in the first half this year though.) This roster isn’t going to be manhandled by the SEC this year. Last year we had skilled players, this year we have skill and athleticism. This year the game plan of playing rough isn’t gonna work.

I can see where some may think this. There are different ways to build a roster. You can build a deep team with 10 or so interchangeable parts, which is what I believe Pope did with this squad. Or you can have a heavier talented starting lineup with more big additions like a Haggerty or Ian Jackson, which would lead to a far less talented roster from 6-10 off the bench. There is no wrong way to build a team and hopefully this is the correct recipe for next year with this bunch. I am getting excited now. However, I do wonder what it would be if we would have closed the deal on one of the elite type players like Yaxel, Ian Jackson or Haggerty instead of the 2 or 3 really solid pieces we seemed to have added instead. GBB
JQ is very Elite

I'll be the first to admit that I get panicky when "insiders" and the media say that we've lost this of that player, but Pope can build rosters.

We will be vastly upgraded defensively and athletically at the 2/3 4 and 5

If we can shoot we will be one of the 5 best teams in the country.
