Personally, I like it. The Defensive Coordinator who becomes a Head coach stays on the defensive side of the ball, because that's his "baby". He'll hire some hotshot young offensive coordinator and let him play to his heart's content.

Chris Petersen? A Defensive guy. Todd Graham? A defensive guy. However, they were smart enough to get some hotshot offensive coordinators.

Sylvester Croom? Offensive coordinator. Emory Bellard? Offensive coordinator at Texas.

Oh well. It just seems that every time we hire an offensive guy to Head Coach Mississippi State, they immediately go to "their system' and damn the consequences, bygolly, WE ARE GOING TO RUN OUR SYSTEM NO MATTER IF WE DON'T HAVE THE PLAYERS TO RUN IT!

If you look at some of those high octane offenses, they forget about playing defense and every game is a shootout.

You have to have a good defense in the SEC. More importantly, you need to have good linemen, on both sides of the ball.

that one game maybe, but sometimes a dominating defense is just as fun to watch. But that's just me.
