I know damn sure John Wall wouldn’t give two damns about who we signed in the portal that’s all I can say. I miss dudes like him he would cook anyone and would tell them about it.
Yup. Dudes that weren't afraid to compete. These "elite" talents now want to show up, dunk it a few times, hit a couple of threes and think they are hot ****.

I hope this doesn’t affect future high school recruiting. Staff dropped the ball on this one.
I think this has more to do with Lewis being afraid of competition rather than Pope dropping the ball.

People need to stop worrying so much and give Pope the credit he's earned. I'm pretty sure he has this situation, and future high school recruiting, under control.

Just a hunch.

And man we are getting roasted on that tweet.....damn. Just when we were getting some good momentum.
Oh well.

Duke got roasted by us when a bunch of their players, at least 7 according to Google, entered the portal and jumped ship after last season. They managed to have an okay season. There will be players out there that want to take our money, play on a big stage, and aren't afraid of competition.

Are you slow? Pope probably found out either earlier today or in the past few days. He didn’t start recruiting a 3rd PG thinking Acaden was going to be here. He didn’t find out with this tweet.
I think you misunderstand what I am saying. We brought the second point guard in from Pitt to compete with, not start over, Acaden. Acaden did not like that and decided to leave. I am totally fine with him leaving if he felt he couldn't beat out the Pitt kid because that means he is 1) entitled and believes he should automatically start, because by leaving he clearly believes he should automatically start, and that means he has character issues to me, and 2) he doesn't believe he will start because why? Because he must not have much faith in his game to beat out the Pitt kid. Pope has every right to bring in another Point Guard to compete and take some of the workload off the starters. Period.

Afraid of competition, and money. You know who’s not afraid of competition or money? Bronny. But for different reasons.

I hope you’re right because this isn’t a good look at all.

But they’re claiming a kid who shot sub 38% for a meh Pitt team would?
Those stats just reinforce more reasons why Acaden shouldn't have feared competing with Lowe.

It was a mentally weak move from a mentally weak circle of influence. He's not transcendent, but his mentality is one that fits along the lines of a transcendent talent.

Who gives a **** what kind of look it is. Pope is building a monster squad to compete for a title next year; with plenty of room for returnees.

Would you rather have him, or a Wilkerson for next season? Easy answer for me. Not ideal to lose him, but it isn’t a perfect world.

I was afraid of something like this happening and it did. He would have gotten plenty of time, not sure what he wants or is looking for. The only school that doesn’t have this problem is Duke, they are All Americans two deep at every position. Some leave after a year or two, but not many back out after committing, it usually takes a couple of years for them to see only five can play at a time. Oh well Kentucky will still have a chance to play for the national championship with or without him.

Lowe will be better than Acaden next year, but the benefit of Acaden was multiple years.

Idk, this does suck, but we also couldn't have gone into the year with a 4-star freshman as our PG1.
There are no guarantees that anyone stays here multiple years, especially kids just looking for the most $$.

Go back and read what Acaden said when he signed to play here and I'm paraphrasing. He was coming here because he could GROW into the role of being a starting PG at a big time school and would be able to run the position as a freshman while learning.

When you read it, it sounds like Acaden thought that he would be THE MAN at the PG position and anyone else would be his backup. When Lowe signed TODAY, that told him AND his OVERBEARING ffather that they would have to WAIT to run the team.

247 reported that Pope had been to DC to talk with the Lewis' more than once to discuss the situation. Apparently it wasn't what they wanted to hear. Hate to see this, but the days of BOWING DOWN to 4 start freshmen are OVER!!!

Good luck to the Lewis' UNLESS they play UK.
Tells me Pope isn’t getting hijacked like Cal did. If you don’t want to compete before the season starts your no dog. Next
