Since we don’t have much to crow about I’ll poke fun at the ACC. When will they have a team that can win a CFB playoff game? Not this year. Do they even have a team that deserves a bid? I don’t see an ACC team being relevant in the next few seasons. Maybe one of them kills it in the portal but I don’t see a team from the ACC competing for a natty any time soon.

Just because the ACC beats each other up, it just means the conference is deep. Miami’s only losses are to Louisville and SMU. They beat
Notre Dame. SMU looks like a top 10 team after thrashing Louisville. They had a very young defense early this year that had now come together. Watch Georgia Tech beat Georgia and then what are all the idiots going to say who say smack because of money for CBS and the SEC

I will say that we would have been a middle of the road ACC team had we been in their league, just like Clemson. Middle of the road in ACC, or basement in the SEC, the view sucks.

I watched Pitt vs GT last night, or at least a large portion of the game, and neither could beat us on our worst day.
We did not pull away from a very very bad Va Tech team until late in the 4th quarter this year, so I'm having doubts about your assessment.
That was the Very First game, sentimental game for Beamer. Va Tech was Pumped, not knowing how bad their season would get. No ACC team would win more than 2 games in that Stretch of Vandy, Missouri, Uk, LSU, Oklahoma, Bama Ole Miss and A&M

I watched that game too. I think either of them would beat us fairly easily.
SC vs GT and SC vs Pitt would be competitive games, not saying SC would beat both, but saying it would be, by Vegas, a less than 4 or 5 point spread!

Louisville smoked UK, FSU throttled Alabama, Clemson doubled us up and big bad Georgia barely beat Georgia tech. The SEC has become mid. I promise you put any SEC team in front of Ohio st or Indiana and heck even Notre Dame and they'll get smoked.
The "ACC is a joke" threads would be more tolerable if our team was competitive. Our 4-6 team just lost to Clemson, the 8th place team in the ACC. We should keep our mouths shut.

Disagree, and I knew these posts would be coming... the 'we shouldn't talk' posts. They come up every year we suck or lose to clemson. Just because we suck doesn't mean we can not point out others suck. In fact if anyone knows what sucking looks like, it's we as Gamecock fans. If we say it sucks, bank it.
Time will tell with playoffs. What SC does vs Clemson doesn't change my mind that the ACC doesn't have a team that should qualify for playoffs.

Finishing 3rd in ACC doesn't make you a playoff team. Texas has a bigger argument to make it than Miami. Texas will be left out....

Two things can be true at the same time. We can acknowledge that we suck while also acknowledging that the ACC sucks as a conference.
I stand by my original post. The ACC can’t compete right now with the Big 10 or SEC in having national championship contenders in football. Name a team in the ACC that will make the semifinals next year? Does anyone really think they will have a team that good ? And even if they do, it will only be one team. I know we have our own issues but that’s another conversation for another thread. I’d start one but don’t have a couple of free hours right now.
