I think that is a good move, there is no way in hell Bobby Hall and his cronies would allow that kid to get away. He is a great prospect. Bracewell at S.P. is very good too and we shouldn't waste our time there either. Show no interest and we might have a chance.
I think this is a bad move by us. First of all, there are 11 months in recruiting left and anything can happen. Now, no, I don't think we get Singleton, but if you're going to recruit all of Mississippi, you've got to recruit Madison to. Unless Mayor Mary plans on seceding from Mississippi, which is not out of the realm of possibility. But anyway, I remember a guy named Derek Pegues being a "lost cause" as well. Not to mention guys like Robert Elliott, and even this year Damien Robinson was gone to Bama.
Secondly, MC and South Panola are two of the best programs in the state. Again, if your recruiting philosophy is to get the best in Mississippi, you've got to recruit those two schools. We may not get Brassell or Singleton, but there are other guys that are underclassmen that we MIGHT could get. At the very least, keep your prescence.
Thirdly, Bobby Hall may coach at MC, but there's also a guy named Bernard Euell that played at MSU on staff there. There's also another coach- I believe Coach Walker that is also a big State fan. And if you remember MSU had a guy named Chris Rainey from Amory that was coached by- yep. Bobby Hall. Now, yes, Hall steers players to Ole Miss, but I don't think it's even close to Scott Samsel territory. Also, Mark Hudspeth has a good relationship with Hall. I would hate to see MSU leave MC with their tails tucked again just because the conditions aren't favorable and miss out on more good players. Especially if the school is pro-MSU as someone said in a thread last week. And we actually have had some decent success with South Panola players considering their proximity to Oxford- Pegues, Mario Bobo, Demetric Wright, Kevin Cooper among others.
Lastly, it's coming from Rosebowl. Screw him. What does Paul Jones have to say?
