doesn't the SEC have some of their own rules when it comes to the SEC bowl tie in's? Really asking not stating.

states specific rules for the Cap One bowl. It does not say anything about the other bowls which leads me to believe there are no rules for the other bowls.

we all know the deal and we are pretty much screwed. Also after the Cam Newton ordeal I don't know how much the SEC office will be willing to go to bat for us.

and I don't know what the SEC's involvement is. These are decisions made by the bowls in what they feel is in the best interest of their game to generate revenue and exposure.

Hell they are there to protect the Student athelete. If the confederate flag is harmful to college atheletes surely someone getting left out of a big bowl is.
