I actually like this map thing quite a bit, except that it is not maroon. I agree that the plain uni's are badassed and the special uni's are tolerable at best and an embarrassment at worst (snow bowl). The Mississippi State banner is too much, and I would prefer STATE or Miss. State. There's nothing like a football team that looks and plays like a football team. One out of two won't get it.

Well... It might have something to do with us (STATE) paying a firm a million dollars to develop and market our current logos. You people need to let the MSU go. It's gone... Good bye... See ya later. We are now MState or MISSISSIPPI STATE. Not MISS. STATE or MSU. The walking bully was put down. He will be missed, but we've moved on.

Exactly. We could go back to the old MSU logo (not the Nike one), but that decision has been made and we're not going back. We're going to be M-State for a long time.

I really like our new logos. The new alumni car sticker with Mississippi State spelled out looks great. Also love the new Bulldog with M State between the front legs. Great looking logo. I have never been a fan of the M State logo but I know it's here to stay. So I have given up bitching about it.

The opportunity to incorporate the baseball logo more has been missed and I don't understand that. It represents a winning history and is recognizable.

This is why I liked the unis from the Sherrill era. Pants were plain but the jerseys had a little flair with the stripe on the arms, and the MISS STATE on the front, along with the patches. The helmets were sharp but understated, and most of all, maroon.

The 1997-2001 MSU uniforms were the best ever.

Kids that were born in 1997 will be 16 this year...

HS recruits aren't going to like the unis from the JWS era or the uni that was posted by thatsbaseball from 1200 B.C. I'm 40 and I could give a **** less what the unis look like so long as we're winning. But the elite kids that we're trying to get in the door to play for us do care - so I say please them and to hell with what the old geezer fans think.

Mississippi has a unique shape and is easily recognizable.

Nobody from the southeast would mistake us for Alabummer, and I feel that most of the eastern half of the nation would instantly know the difference. I'm not so sure for those west of Oklahoma.

What are you basing this recruiting info on ? Got any names or instances of an "elite" recruit signing with ANY school because of their non-traditional unis ? Now I`m sure some mention Oregon`s unis when they sign and that the millions and millions Nike has pumped into the program and it`s facilities had nothing to do with it. Also those 1200BC unis were worn by teams that did win and not just against Alcorn and Middle Tenn..

I get this, but it's dumb. I live in a place with a ton of Michigan alumni and I STILL mix up our logos at first glance. That was the point right, to make our logo unique? I refuse to ditch the dawg logo, the seal logo, and the MSJ... which I too think is the best logo ever at Mississippi State. They're so popular that most fans aren't going to ditch them either... so by the university spending a million plus on new logos and stuff they just stirred the pot even more because outside brands are still going to manufacture MSJ hats and stuff and you're still going to see the marching dawg on everything. Best to just embrace it, which the university isn't doing which is again.... dumb.

Instead of making god awful Egg Bowl jerseys and "Snow Bowl" jerseys for a game played in 90+ degree weather they should make a "retro" jersey from the time we dominated Ole Miss and beat A&M in a bowl game where it snowed. Instead of gold and silver looking turds of jerseys they could throw the MSJ logo on a helmet and do some piping and stripes on a modern climalite jersey. Boom. Accomplishes the same thing black, Snow Bowl, and Egg Bowl jerseys accomplish and actually makes the fans happy. I've yet to meet a fan that has the reaction the department wanted to get by introducing alt jerseys. Throwbacks would get that reaction. Can't dupe fans of MSU... we've seen it all.

It is a single game uniform, not a full uniform change. That's all I know. I'd bet it all on Egg Bowl jerseys though.

Glad someone else feels this way too

I strongly dislike that logo. Looks nothing like Bully.

I don't care what we wear as long as we win

I don't get this. Do you mean it or are you trying to say something else. The reason I ask is that I know I want to be proud of how my team looks as well as how it plays. I am committed to a team called the Bulldogs that wears Maroon and White. This team has been playing college football for almost as long as any other foootball team in existence. We've been maroon and white for as long me or my father can remember. Wasn't one of our first names "The Maroons"? But I forget that my team has no tradition, according to some posts I've seen recently. Sorry.

Thanks Michael Kors. Just for the record I always post that in uniform threads if it hasn't been posted yet.
