IMO the top 62 in MaxPreps are in pretty decent shape the 2 unknowns are who will be 2nd seed in Reidsville conference and the #63 in final MaxPreps. Could be two 2AA, could be two 2A or could be 1 of each. this will effect the split.

2nd place team in mid-state behind Reidsville will either be Graham or Carrboro.....Carrboro beats Cummings the last game they will be the one...............if Cummings beats Carrboro...then Graham will get 2nd even if they lose by 100 points to Reidsville (their opp. friday nite)................Carrboro enrollment is 861...Graham is 801............

Pisgah is at 1013 and is a large 2a. Tuscola is at 1012 and is a small 3a. Think they had a legitimate beef against the realignment issues. There's to many teams in the new MAC.

Here’s one for you. Thomasville’s population is 35 percent larger than Lexington, but Lexington High is 20 percent larger than Thomasville High. You can chalk that one up to a former Davidson County school superintendent who had the clout to have the legislature freeze the Thomasville district lines in 1983. Guess that’s why they named a school after him. The furniture industry industry leaving wasn’t the only factor that caused the system’s demise.

E. Lawson Brown had a great deal of clout with the legislatures!

I figured we would be around 1200 this year, Oak Grove opened with just the Freshman and Sophmore classes currently, ND will lose approx. 200 -275 +/- over next 2 yrs, would think that would settle around 1000-1100 ballpark. Just my opinion here. Like you say if growth continues as it is now, ND could be big 3A very quickly, basically toward the lower end now. Could possibly return to 4A at some point, hard to tell, as they have really shrunken the ND school district. Again, a lot of "ifs", and just my opinion...and as you can see on current ADM's, looks like ND came in around 1300, so my initial guess came in a bit short...

Yes, he did. Yet Lexington’s school district actually includes some areas outside of the city limits, that would normally be in the county school district. Made no sense then, and even less now. The legislation only applied to Thomasville.

Or people with kids prefer to live in Lexington, or people in Lexington made more babies

Or Lexington, with a population of less than 20,000, has 22,000 in their school district. Thomasville, with a population of 27,000, has a school district with 12,000.
In Thomasville, you can live in the city limits and not have to live in the school district. Not so in Lexington. Many theorize that is why Lexington’s population continues to drop.
