The 2009 Derek Dunn Douchebag of the Year Award bracket is here! Based on your nominations, the committee has selected and seeded the top 12 eligible nominees. Beginning tommorow, each matchup will be open for voting. The winner will take home the coveted Derek Dunn Douchebag of the Year Award. This should be fun during the offseason.

Chip is a dangerous 3 seed.

I also like Ole Miss Grad over Coach34, Destin Bob to advance to the Final Four. Brad Krayer vs. Andy Kennedy is a hell of a first round matchup.

but will probably be decided in the final four between the winner of Durham and Dustin Bob. The winner of that epic battle of doucheness will take the crown.

The award has to go to a single person. Louisiana Tech was the poster's name.

played a tougher non-conference schedule than Rick. That in itself translates into a higher seed. Right, Greg Byrne?

The committee felt like Chip Durham could have been a 1 seed in a normal year, but Ron Polk definitely took the 1 seed this year. DustinDawg threatening to whoop someone's *** and not showing up really made him the 2 seed.

That's going to be mind-numbingly boring. Just list the candidates in a poll and lets vote on them. Not that I really care all that much, but I do think having a tournament is going to get real old for everybody real fast.

and voting on Nafoom could let us know their thoughts on it. The whole "voice of experience" thing.

the other people are right. You need interactive brackets. If there were something like you use for NCAA pools, where you can just do a whole round at a time, that would be cool.

But this is less than one regional of a full tourney, so it shouldn't take long.

I think it would be helpful if you added some background information about each candidate in the poll posts. For instance, in the matchup between Destin Bob and Pat Patterson, you could include links to douchey posts by Destin Bob and links to news articles showing Pat Patterson's d-baggery. I know that might take some effort, but you seem to be on top of this anyway. The voting public would be able to make a more informed choice. I read this **** every day, so I know what all of these people are about, but some may not, as evidenced by dp11's post above.

LA Tech should be replaced with Sly Croom. That was the most unprepared team I think I've ever seen. Well, behind the team that lost to Maine, so make that the 2nd worst prepared team. Then there was Tulane right after Katrina. We won but barely won to a team that had no home and very little practice time. Oh, and I can't forget GA Tech and West VA. We were clueless against them. I'll stop there because I could spend the rest of the afternoon naming games we never showed up for on Croom's watch. Damn snake oil salesman.

and DustinDawg calling someone out on a message board then not showing up has to be in the Douchebag Hall O' Fame.

I think he's got it...but we'll see.

You should take La Tech off, they are partial responsible for helping rid us of Croom and should get a slow clap instead of a DDDY nomination.

do you mean the former U.S. Congressman from Mississippi; the former Volvo dealer from Memphis; Pat "Gravy" Patterson, (winningest baseball coach in Louisiana history); the current beer hating Oxford Mayoral candidate; or the recruit?

I need to direct my ire properly.

no way I should be an 8 seed...I played a much tougher schedule than many ahead of me...having to go against MississippiGrad and then Polk virtually assures I wont make it because I dont have any draft picks this season. Looks like "bad luck" for me again in the Tourney

You should probably take the Stansbury approach next time.
