After Maryland comes the October Octopus Onslaught when we will find out what this 2015 WVU team is made of.

Oct. 3 – at #14 & #15 Oklahoma in Norman.

Oct. 10 -- #22 & #24 Oklahoma State in Mountaineer Field.

Oct. 17 – at #4 & #5 Baylor in Waco.

Oct. 29 – at #2 & #3 TCU in Fort Worth.

This may be the most fearsome October gauntlet of any college team in America.

I can’t wait to see how my alma mater does!

Toughest 4 game stretch in WVU's history by far. With another week, Oklahoma may be knocking on the door of a top ten ranking along with Baylor and TCU. Every team will likely be undefeated when we play them and 3 of the 4 games are on the road. Definitely the toughest October schedule in the nation so we really need a win against Maryland.

Aaand .... we come out of that stretch winning at least 3 of 4. The talk about WV being THE dark-horse candidate for the FOUR will be common fodder for talking heads.

It was already a tough stretch but with Okie State playing good football, that just adds another tough team. I figure they would be decent this year but they are looking pretty dang good. I would love to see WVU go 4-0 or even 3-1 but that will be asking for awful lot. Splitting 2-2 during that stretch can go a long way in helping WVU having a very good year. WVU needs to protect home field, would love to see us go 7-0 at home. Steal a game or 2 on the road and see how the dominoes fall.

Good post, bEER Nation.

October will be a real test of WVU's manhood. If the Mountaineers can get through October with even breaking even, it should elevate the program.
And they have to NOT overlook Maryland, the bellwether game every year for WVU. Beat Maryland and a bowl game is nearly always in the offing. Lose to the Terps and WVU usually stays home.
I can't wait!

Win or lose...............Holgs and the Mountaineers continue to entertain the faithful. That's what the game is all about. Holgs brings excitement to the living room every week during pigskin season and for that I am grateful. I love to watch him put on his sideline show. You know...............the bad hair thing, the thirty pack of Red Bull and a couple of large jars of pickles (supplied by Warez via TorontoEERs). Nothing but theatrics! I love it! Now, let's bring on the Mountaineers!
