he said he would have gone there if he would have went to college. That's like you saying you could fit into a 32 inch waist pant if you are skinnier. Neither mean much because it will never happen.

nitpick all you want...and I can find 10 other players pretty quickly that also committed or signed college scholarships but went pro...doesnt mean that college was just "unlucky"...

Monta Ellis had no intention of coming to S'ville- he had been told since the 9th grade he was NBA bound...he just didnt have the draft assurances LeBron did

I mean, he committed during his junior season to us, with every intention of playing in Starkville. Then his stock shot up in his senior year, and he went to the draft. I'd say it's worked out for him.

how many of them were told by the university they wanted to sign with- "no thanks, we don't want your top-rated talented ***?"

How many of those guys ended up at another school because their teammate killed another teammate?

The situations you mentioned are just "slightly" different

those two guys never intednded to go to college. However, they did have to have a fallback plan in case they werent ready to be drafted. So they committed to State, their families received thousands of dollars from a ghost, and then they declared for the draft once they were assured of getting drafted fairly high.

Thats the way it was done. Bigtime recruits continued to be recruited by colleges until they were assured of being drafted. But make no mistake, the NBA was the primary goal all along- not college

when his 17'ing basketball coach tells people that he was NBA-bound as soon as they got the word, whats not to believe? Afro, you are semi-educated and thats great, but you know as well as I do basketball players in the state of Mississippi grow up thinking NBA- not college...

Those 2 guys and their handlers played the recruiting game like every big-name recruit does...and they made alot of money off MSU doing so...

I don't understand your point by continuing to say Outlaw and Ellis' goal was the NBA. Of course it was. But Outlaw's decision wasn't a slam dunk. He was 100% MSU until very late in the game.

we had been giving him money and he had no assurance he was going to be a high draft choice- of course he told everyone he was State all the way

Of the players i mentioned, none were told that or had that happen to a teammate.

The situations, when you get that specific, are different. But the only reason you are getting that specific is to help prove your point.

They are similar in that players unexpectedly land at other schools all the damn time. THAT is what has happened to Renardo, and THAT is what happened with the players i listed...as well as hundreds of other players thru this decade that could easily be listed.
