We have been over this. The record was that damn Ed Morrows fault. Michael Jacobsen however? That kid is great, and a great teammate. The only reason he left is because one of his teammates was banging his girlfriend...... or something like that. We are still waiting on the insider to fill us in on how such a great kid could ever choose to leave.

Agree with you. If you're a business and you recruit a guy (or girl) to come work for you twice and you are turned down twice, I think it's hard to see why/how it would be desirable to get that guy when he's out looking for a job again.

Agau says "I felt like turning them down two times, it was maybe time for me to finally go home, but things didn't fall into place like I wanted them to." - Um, maybe you shouldn't have turned them down two times if you wanted it to work out.

I'd want Miles to recruit Agau hard a third time if he had actually done anything to suggest it was worth the effort - but he hasn't. In the interview, Agau seems to want to draw a comparison between himself and Copeland. But when healthy, Copeland was a major contributor at Georgetown. Not really the case with Agau.

1. Because we have the scholarship available. It is not "tied up" when it would otherwise not be used. 2. Agau is 6'8". Nebraska has always struggled attracting tall players. Having more than the bare minimum would be nice. 3. Injuries happen. You can never have enough big guys, and you can never have enough talent.

Agau is not going to be the difference between a 13-17 season and a 20-10 season. Compound that with the fact, Miles would be saddled with him for 2 years rather than 1 and, to me, it's a wise decision. Agau has already shown you at 2 different schools that he is at best a role player and will quit on you if things aren't going his way. Use the scholarship next year.....Or in my opinion, save the scholarship for the next coach to use.

If Agau was from Tulsa instead of Omaha, no one would care where he signed.

Im 50/50 on this. We probably don't really need him and there does seem to be a touch of diva feel to him.
But I'm also think it's not bad to keep a door open to the Somali-American community in Omaha, especially after the Arop snafu. It has the potential of paying bigger dividends down the road.

I think you've pegged it. Miles has brought in several less touted transfers over the years. Heck, that's been his staple-- bringing in transfers. Now here's an immediately eligible ESPN top 100 big man who hit 85% from the foul line and you've got two open scholarships in a make or break year. You really only have two other players who can defend the four or five in the Big 10 and both of those guys are foul prone. Yet, Miles snubs him.

Well the good news is, both men have a chance to prove the other wrong. Miles can get his team to the middle of the Big Ten pack and into the postseason without Agau, and Agau can step up his game and become a major contributor for SMU.

There is still a chance of a late grad transfer I think. I think they have until late this summer and there is always the chance of a school year transfer like Copeland coming in late so having a couple of open slots isn't the worst thing in the world to have in your pocket. Ideally they would have been filled already but they aren't.

I think enough time was wasted on him. If he had called Miles and said hey I know I walked away twice but I want to come home if you'll have me....I think he would most likely be on our roster. He's shown too much diva for that though and expected Nebraska you come begging.....and then talks about how they didn't.
