This is classic and quite funny. Someone with better Google skills needs to find her pic. I've seen it before, and she's freaking hot.

This keeps getting better and better. Maybe his dog will sue next for not getting his belly scratched enough.

With all this suing going on, no wonder OM hasn't fired him yet.

I suspect that Kennedy's wife's claim is for loss of services and consortium which includes, but is not limited to, impairment of one's sex life. This is a claim that is asserted by a spouse who was not directly injured by the tortfeasor's malfeasance or nonfeasance. In other words, it is a derivative action. Typically the plaintiff asserting the derivative action does not include any specific allegation of loss of sex life. Rather, it is implied by the claim for loss of services and consortium. I suspect the writer either asked a lawyer or looked it up in Black's Law Dictionary and used journalistic license in making the sex claim. I'd be shocked if Mrs. Kennedy authorized a specific allegation that her sex life was impaired by the valet and cab driver. I would like to read the her complaint if anyone can locate it online.

This story has been quiet for a few weeks, but we're going to hear a lot more of it in the months to come. Kennedy is in some real trouble here.</p>

You're probably right, but I still think he skates clean whether he deserves to or not.

And like I've told my friends, this is probably the best time for something like this to happen to Kennedy, when we've got enough injuries that we won't make any noise to get extra national exposure. Very few Sportscenter highlights and very few nationally televised games from here on out. It's as good of a time for something like this to fly somewhat under the radar for him.

It would have sucked a lot more for him had this happened next year if and when we are healthy and making a run towards the NCAA tourney.

Still, this countersuit by the wife is great, even if it isn't meant the way the article construes.

because that is embarrassing the **** out of him.

what AK did to her. (Or didn't do in this case)

I mean, if I did what AK did and my wife came up to me and said, "Honey, I know! I'll tell everyone that this is affecting our sex life! Then we can sue the cab driver over that! I know it will work! I saw it on Desperate Housewives!" I would have to nix that.

The valet is an independent witness who has no apparent reason to lie. As long as his story doesn't significantly conflict with the cab driver's, Kennedy is going to have a pretty serious problem getting an acquital. Of course, it's pretty clear that his strategy is going to be to try to intimidate both the cabbie and the valet to back off of their stories or face legal bills that they can't afford to pay.

....I can see why OM fans are willing to lie, cheat, and rationalize for Kennedy. He has you guys playing hard, and ya'll are fun to watch, and are competitive, even with debilitating injuries this season. However, do you not get to the point where you are ashamed and embarrassed and just want him gone? At what point do his actions outweigh his coaching ability in terms of embarrassment, etc.

This thing is pretty embarrassing, and will likely get worse before it's over.

Can you imagine Rick Stansbury, drunk, punching a cab driver and calling him "Bin Laden" at one in the morning while being kicked out of a college bar with Cunningham and Kirby? Then having Meo sue the cab driver because Rick can't get it up?
The whole thing is unbelievable.

You are asking this to a fanbase who saw no downside to Ed Orgeron giving piggy back rides to adoring women & ripping off his shirt in front of his players.

Everybody elses idea of "embarrassing" does not apply to how the University of Mississippi percieves their coaches.

All things considered, I think Kennedy is probably one more bar room brawl away from getting a big raise, a contract extension & a banner in his honor raised in the Sad Pad.

Like I said, I won't argue whether he deserves to get off or not (there is a pun in there somewhere), but from what I've been hearing, they expect he will come out clean on the other side of this deal.

It'll take a lot for me to be embarassed enough to want him gone. Reason being, he's the basketball coach, not the football coach. Our basketball program is secondary to the football program, so I can put up with more from the basketball program.

I was the one that said I had been hoping that 1) he'd turn out to be a really good coach and 2) he'd have a run in or two that were just bad enough to scare off teams from making a strong push for him, but not bad enough to get him fired. Basically, I was hoping that he'd turn out a little bit like a poor-man's Huggins, with the exception that Cincinnati's basketball program is the main program on the campus, which magnified any of his missteps.

Essentially, in basketball, I'd be fine with having a quality basketball coach with a little baggage rather than having a nice guy that doesn't have us competitive. If we were a top notch basketball program, or if the basketball program was THE big time program on campus, that would be different.

but I'd rather win. Legal troubles are one thing, and possible firing offenses. Personal matters? I don't give a +$#+ if he wears a tutu and rides to games on a freaking unicorn.

I agree with that, and that brings up the reason Mike Leach hasn't gotten a big time job yet. He's a weird dude. What does that have to do with being a good football coach? Nothing, but for some reason people want their coaches to fit this cookie cutter mold, almost like politicians. I don't get it. To me, it's all about winning. If you can win or do a good job, I'll put up with a lot of stuff as long as it doesn't get in the way of you doing your job.

You (and the Rebel fanbase) would foot the bill for both the tutu & the unicorn.

Lastly, a well-intentioned but misplaced slogan by a fired MSU football coach does not come anywhere near the circus clowns OM hires for coaches.

Croom had his flaws, and was a crummy coach, but he had more dignity in his little finger than Big O & Kennedy combined (I'll leave out Nutt for now, at least until the new text messaging scandal erupts).

You were hoping AK would get into enough trouble to scare off other school from approaching him???? That is laying it on a bit thick.

What was Croom's career record again?

Because that's the only thing that matters. Orgeron didn't get fired for being a jerk. It may have played a role in the way his teams played, but he got fired for losing games. Rod Barnes was a really nice guy that apparently had integrity (though I still think he has racist tendencies), but he wasn't a good basketball coach. Nick Saban is a lying jerk with very little integrity, and he's really hard to work with, but I'd take him as my coach in a heartbeat, because he wins.

Seriously, I've been saying that ever since he came to campus and did a good job during his first season. Our basketball program is not elite, so our only chance of really keeping a quality coach is if he's a little bit tainted. I know it sounds weird, and most people probably don't agree with me, but I said that to quite a few of my friends after that first year.

Edited to add: My thoughts on Kennedy are a lot like my thoughts on the athletes themselves. You keep them around until the off-court/field problems become bad enough that they outweigh the positives they can bring you on the field/court. Perilloux's treatment at LSU was a good example. They put up with a lot of stuff because he was a really good player, but eventually it got bad enough to outweigh the good he did for the team. As long as AK's transgressions don't outweigh what he's doing on the court and as long as they don't hurt his performance on the court, then I'm fine with keeping him.

I don't pretend to be high and mighty about all this character mess. Ideally you'd have choir boys winning national championships for your team, but in reality to me it's all about winning. The character business is only a concern when it starts to get in the way of the winning.

to get Kennedy's attorney fees paid and settle the thing. Basically, Kennedy bowed up when he sued these folks to "prove" he did nothing wrong. He is now ready to shut it down but his lawyer wants to get paid. This is how they can get that done.

This is a common story line in this sort of litigation.

He may well survive the whole thing. I don't really care whether he does or not. But, I do hope he gets some help. Sounds like he's got some real issues.
