It'll take a lot for me to be embarassed enough to want him gone. Reason being, he's the basketball coach, not the football coach. Our basketball program is secondary to the football program, so I can put up with more from the basketball program.
I was the one that said I had been hoping that 1) he'd turn out to be a really good coach and 2) he'd have a run in or two that were just bad enough to scare off teams from making a strong push for him, but not bad enough to get him fired. Basically, I was hoping that he'd turn out a little bit like a poor-man's Huggins, with the exception that Cincinnati's basketball program is the main program on the campus, which magnified any of his missteps.
Essentially, in basketball, I'd be fine with having a quality basketball coach with a little baggage rather than having a nice guy that doesn't have us competitive. If we were a top notch basketball program, or if the basketball program was THE big time program on campus, that would be different.
