Alexia Mobley Interview

Thanks to the guys over at Cardinal Couple, who agreed to let me post Paulie's interview Wednesday with 2022 UofL women's basketball verbal Alexia Mobley. Many are wondering if Mobley, who graduate this summer, will enroll early at UofL, but she did not bring the possibility up in the chat.

Sonja, do you have any knowledge of what her decision might be regarding early enrollment? I wonder if it would be better for her to come in now or later.

iI do not have any knowledge on any type of early decision making about Alexia. Paulie indicates that she'll announce when ready and it's something that will most likely be done in tandem with UofL WBB.

Naturally, I can understand the fan interest in when she'll get to Louisville and whether she'll re-classify or not. At this point in time, there is no definite answer either way.

She is in Hoover, AL this weekend playng in an AAU tournament with the Cincinnati Angels, so I doubt there would be any type of announcement this weekend.

She is still a 2022 commit.

Looks like she is indeed coming but will red shirt this season. If that proves true, the Cards will benefit by having her much more ready to play than if she stayed back in high school one more year.

Sonja, the paperwork says 2021-2022 on it and has been confirmed by other sources. She will redshirt this season.

That will be a bonus for her and for us. It will give her time to learn the system and be ready to step right in next year. We will have some players to replace next year do this is a good move.
