our D will get better. Instantly.

Who are the O coaches and other assistants to recruit NJ is a big question. The other is how fast can Ash grow into the head coaching role? He has never done it.

Not excited, but willing to give him his chance. His assistant hiring will tell us a lot.

Absolutely correct--As I said in another thread, it will determine if Ash can make the jump from fiery dc to solid ceo of a winning program or be the Will Muschamp model where managing the program was over his head.

The good sign is that he was talking about being a hc a few years ago so hopefully he has sketched out a concrete vision a la GS as to what he wants a program to be. Something a Fred Hill or Muschamp could never do. Still cringe at the Fred Hill jr introductory press conference where he showed up in a blue or green tie and when asked what his vision for the program was, muttered, uh...get good players. Was clear to me he was in over his head for the top spot. Hopefully Ash has that plan and a number of guys he has worked with that he can get for his staff, at least some with NJ ties.

Ash has relationships with staff from Ark, OSU and Wisk. He knows guys. Flood knew no one from P5 schools. This staff will be much better!

No doubt it will be. But that is a low bar to set.

The D side is covered, which is where we needed it the most, imo. However, you need offense too in this day and age. To be elite, you can't be one dimensional.

His OC is the next biggest hire the school can make.

as ru-baby mentioned, he's been planning to be a HC for some time so i would have to think he is making calls to his targets right now or already has.

also, he is known to be a defensive genius that dissected many offenses in the country for a while. there must be a scheme he wants and he must know who he would like to run it.

on the recruiting front, i think he should to bring in Hafley back from the Browns
