They are 30-15, 12-9. What other MSU baseball in the not-so-distant past was 30-14-1, 12-9 at THIS EXACT POINT IN THE YEAR?

Also, what poster has been telling the board for months that this team was remarkably similar to that team, in many facets?

I got laughed at a couple weeks ago for predicting a 9-6 SEC finish

Well I will say that we have a harder schedule to end this May, so I doubt we go on an undefeated run like they did. But similar nonetheless. The difference is the early games we just absolutely blew this year. Yeah, we have/had bullpen issues (so did 2016 really), but some of ours this year were just ridiculous.

Middle relief is a far greater problem right now. That and the lacking of slugging by the offense are the problems. We've basically got 3 dead outs in our lineup every game.

That team finished with 4 of the worst teams in the SEC last year.. that bolstered their streak.

They also played a legit non conference schedule... including a sweep of #8 oregon.

That team had also already played, and played well againt the upper tier of the sec that year. taking 2 of 3 from #2 vandy, taking 2 of 3 from #1 florida, 3 of 4 from ole miss who won 18 sec games that year, and 2 of 3 vs a very good 40 plus win LSU team

Not seeing the similarity minus the record and losing a few early season games.

That team also began the season ranked in all major polls. Entered the top 15 in all 4 major polls in week 4, and never fell out... no of which this team can say

I'm enjoying my crow as I laughed at those who were so inspired by the LSU series saying things had turned for the better.

Can we just get through this weekend unscathed before we crown this collection of travel ball misfits the second coming of 2021?
No kidding. This entire spring has been a cycle of unbounded optimism after a good week followed by doom & gloom after a few losses the next. What are the odds this team is going to suddenly go on a month-long winning streak (counting the week plus so far)?

During the radio broadcast Tanner Allen said this team reminded him of the 2018 team. Basically said things seemed to be gelling at the right time.

And god bless him, but Larry has just mentally snapped. Zero confidence, and his approach at the plate is nothing more than a prayer to either get hit or walk. He rarely even swings the bat anymore because he doesn’t think anything good will come from it.

In baseball, stuff like this can happen to guys, but the million dollar question is… how the 17 is it that your DH is a guy that’s scared to swing?
