All of this is actually about OM's recent success.

That's a terrible argument. What Ole Miss does is important because they are our equal in conference. If they can sign a top class, then we can. If we can go to Atlanta, then they can. So when we see them experiencing success, it's only natural to expect that same success from our staff. That's not obsession, it's realistic expectation.

Ole Miss is 17'n 5-3 and we're 7-6 last year. Some of y'all are acting like they were 11-2 last year and are going to finish this year 10-3. Are they much improved and probably going to get better? Yes and they have a good coach to help them do that. But I'm not sitting over here salivating at the "success" some of you people are talking about right now. They beat LSU on a regular basis. It's just how it is. It's a rivalry game. We beat Bama fairly regularly. If Ole Miss starts going 10-2 every regular season and we're going 5-7 or 7-5...yeah I'll be jealous of their success, but that might not have anything to do with me wanting a coaching change if when we go 5-7 or 7-5 we play hard, beat some good teams, and are well coached. We're none of those right now. I haven't thought of this, but maybe I agree if someone asked me if I wished we played AS HARD as Ole Miss does, I'd say, "Sure. I'll take that. Mullen's 'relentless effort' thing seems to be shot out the window. I'll take a team who's players play for their coach as hard as Freeze's do."

Having said that (kudos to Jesse Palmer) I'm not jealous of anything Ole Miss is doing. I'm embarrassed at the piece of **** product that walks on the field every Saturday and get's in a dog fight with ****** to average teams and gets blown out against good teams.

Terrible argument?

It takes Ole Miss winning a few games for people to realize that our coach may be in over his head? Maybe for you, but for me it is more about the fact that either Dan, or his assistants need to shape the 17 up and regardless of which it is - it's HIS responsibility to see that it's handled. Ole Miss has nothing to do with Mullen's apparent don't give a **** attitude at times on the field, coaching blunders during games, the lack of ability to adjust to what the other team is doing, players that appear unprepared or pitiful recruiting strategies.

So when we see them experiencing success, it's only natural to expect that same success from our staff.

I expect success from our staff regardless of what Ole Miss does. I define that as improvement. Playing in games and not being blown out by 28 in one quarter of football. Competing against teams that are on the same level as us. Losing games, but not getting our asses completely handed to us each time we do. Simply looking and being competent and competitive rather than resembling a Abbott and Costello routine.
