I prefer "Grandfather" in an upper-crust English accent.
My daughter got married late last year, and they're trying.

The past couple of years, she thought it was funny to call me "Father," so I joined in and started calling her "daughter" every time we greet and hug.

I now realize this might threaten my plans to claim my dad's dad's "Pop." She'll probably teach her kids to call me "Grandfather," and it'll stick because my sons won't get married for years.

My dad ended up being Grandpapa.

Grandmother names crack me up. They all want to stay young, and take some version of Mimi, Cici, Gigi, Bebe, etc. My favorite aunt said screw all that, call me Granny. I love it.

Let the first grand give you the name. It’ll be unique to you. Whatever they try to call you will be great.

My maternal grandmother wanted to be called M'Lady, for her name was indeed Lady such and such. My older sister pronounced Ra-Ra (long A's) instead, and it stuck. We got a kick out of Ray Ray Bivens playing in the secondary.

I am BaBa for I helped the my youngest grandchild with his syllables and would play The Beach Boys "Barbara Ann" for him.

My youngest child, my only biological one and my parents only grandchild, is just now starting to pronounce words. My father chose Papa. My mother, not falling too far from her mother's tree, chose Sassy. I cannot wait until my son butchers that and it sticks!
