Alleghany 21 East Wilkes 13

Not many times do you lose the turnover battle 3 to nothing and win. That is how dominant the Trojans were tonight. East was mauled up front on both sides of ball.

Not sure I understand why East did not have their best players on the field for the last drive. Ross did not play any defense tonight and he is a beast.

Great win for Alleghany.

Great Job Trojans! Way to pound the rock! i knew we had a good chance at winning this game after we hung with ashe county for over 3 qtrs....but then we got blown out by starmount. Conference parity is great this yr. Except for west wilkes...they are horrendous. Really no true dominant team in confernce.

Great game Trojans. I'm with you Realfreedom. I don't understand Ross not playing a single down of defense. It's weird to watch. Great game plan for Alleghany. EW run defense was horrendous.

I do not mind working other kids in to attempt to keep kids fresh, but when the game is on the line I cannot think of any reason to not have your best players on the field.

Hopefully this is a lesson learned by the staff.

The line got bullied. Alleghany was very methodical in their approach. Nothing fancy at all. They lulled EW to sleep and scored on 2 huge plays with absolutley no one remotely in position to have a shot at stopping them at all.

You could be right as well Thunderstruck. Just hate limping down the stretch year after year. Cards need to finish strong, but beating the Huskies,Elks,and Eagles will be a daunting task, especially if the line gets punished like they did against Alleghany and if the arm tackles persists.

I heard East had a ton of injuries on the line. Is that true? That definitely doesn't help against someone who fights in the trenches like Alleghany

Not sure to be honest. I saw a few guys in street clothes.

The line has had a lot of injuries.

As for Ross, he played all night on offense and should have been in the game on defense when all the chips are on the table.
