I thought Anthony Craven did a hell of a job. Much better than Johnathan Holmes. I noticed speakers outside of the club level but nothing was coming out of them. Get those fixed and we should all be able to hear.

I'm fine with the "Hail State" on first downs. I'd rather not have cowbells as the go to signal of a first down, as entirely too many fans are stupid to the point where they are still ringing when we are about to run another play.

This goes double for this year because we are back to the HUNH.

I think that's why they are doing the Hail State is to cut back on people ringing too long..maybe have a routine.. Ring the bell, sip of whiskey..same concept better results..lol

Anthony has a way about him that makes me think he was born to be a PA. i like how he sounded dejected when usm got a first down. that was a nice touch.

The Brooklyn Nets do something similar. When the other team scores the PA guy says the person's name in a put-out sort of way. It's cool.

I guess there could be another Anthony Craven that has connections to Mississippi State and experience in public speaking out there.

That's the one I talked about in another thread that talks like he has those fat first grade pencils stuffed in his nostrils, that couldn't have been him last night could it? If so, Anthony, change your radio voice to your PA voice pronto.

I'm almost positive is the same one, saw him on the field at Cowbell Yell as well.

That was him. I still recognized his voice and I agree, the PA voice was much better. I was dreading it and it turned out to be pretty good.

Wow. Thank you for proving everything I've been saying about some of our fans and cowbells...which is they use it as a lazy crutch. If you can't see that the "HAIL STATE" after first downs is the first smart thing we have done in a while then I don't know where to start with you. You're the same jackass ringing cowbells when we are on offense.

^^^^^^^THIS.

We have too many fans who use the cowbell as a lazy crutch, and too many folks who don't teach their kids the appropriate time to ring their cowbells. I sat in front of a dad (or grand-dad) w/ 2 kids who let his kids ring their damn bells the entire game. Offense, defense, special teams, during the play, timeouts, halftime....it didn't matter. Everyone is staring at them and a few of us nicely said something, but it didn't matter to this redneck. For the first time in my life I was annoyed by cowbell.

All our fanbase knows how to do is ring cowbells. I routinely bring friends to games (they went to Big 10, Big 12, and other SEC schools) and it gets embarrassing that we can't coordinate a few key cheers.

Hail State after a first down is a great idea. Now if we could just coordinate the Maroon, White, Fight, Fight, Fight cheer with the students and we might actually improve the atmosphere beyond cowbells.
