Hard to understand this. Really needed a 4 who could spread the floor.
Makes sense. We have a complete frontcourt. We need a good scoring guard and I think that’s all she wrote

Looks like a more athletic and defensive team but much less offense and shooting. Interesting.
More shooting because we can create the lanes to get shots. When teams are having to defend Jaland Lowe they will either have to give up layups or threes. You mark my words —- we are going to be a better shooting team, slightly lower percentage but way more attempts

Garrison as a starting 4 just doesn't scream title contender to me. JMO
How do you get less offense? We have 63ppg returning, and that isn’t counting whatever Jasper and Moreno bring to the table, plus Pope said he’s looking to add another shooter. We averaged 84ppg this past season. So we’re right there, but with better athletes/defenders.
I think people might be shortchanging Garrison and Chandler’s growth.
Hit 1/3 of his threes and defend. Occasional back cut for lobs. That’s all we need from BG
I hope you end up being right. I’m not panicking about it, but I do have some concerns that rolling with Dioubate and Garrison at the 4 is going to have a negative effect on those driving lanes. If we’re as good at driving as we’re hoping, I don’t think defenses are going to worry too much about staying attached to guys who might hit 1-2 threes on a good day. Carr wasn’t perfect, but he was a much more consistent outside shooter than either of them.
Who in our current starters are big time scorers besides Oweh?

Who on last year’s team did you think was a big time scorer coming in? Robinson? Who else? The system scores for Pope.
Garrison will lead the league in turnovers if he’s our starter. Will be really disappointed if he’s a starter.
That and some friggin rebounding. If BG can play about 25 mins and average 10 and 7 I’ll be happy with that.

If BG stays it’s not a huge loss. But, Pope absolutely has to land a big time shooter still
Watch Garrison guard Fears when they got switched.. Fears quit trying to attack him. He is a Plus defender on the perimeter. If he improves a little from 3, he will be fine
Unless BG makes a major improvement in the offseason I just don’t see a title contender that has him as a starter/big minute player.

I think Dioubate starts as the 4. Garrison probably mostly plays at Center. Maybe takes a few minutes at the 4 each game.

I agree. I’m still not used to having a coach who aims to develop guys over multiple seasons.
