Rumor that his agent is shopping him around. Wants more NIL money or doesn't like the competition for PT with Garrison.
He is going to start, even with Garrison on the team. Does he not expect us to have backups?

Not at all, especially as the roster takes shape and higher level guys are now taking interest.
If Williams is worried about being robbed of playing time by a younger, less proven player, then UK isn't for him.
I'm guessing Pope quickly nips this in the bud. I'm sure Williams thought he was teaming up with Osobar, and UK would get someone to back him up. Now, Osobar is not coming and there's competition for minutes.
I will always be happy with an all-defensive big man. So, I'll be happy if he stays.
However, I think Pope will force a quick decision. If Williams leaves, then I hope they replace him with a better shooter to balance out the big man rotation.

I’m sure the Garrison commit took him by surprise. He thought he had that starting 5 spot all locked up. Then things changed.

I wouldn't consider that an "end-all" though. I was just reading through some articles online from Sports Illustrated and CBS Sports from 5 days ago reporting that Kobe Brea cut Kentucky off of his list, and now look where he is. In this new portal world, it ain't over till it's over!

Absolutely right. That was too common under Calipari.
Sisk has been in the biz for 30 years. If a rumor didn't have some smoke he wouldn't post it from behind a paywall.
I wouldn’t worry about that rumor. If it’s got any truth to it and he leaves, we will be fine. I want players that wanna be here.
Maybe someone dangling TWICE the NIL got him thinking he was being undervalued?
