Uh in sane times being anti-Trump would mean legal, moral, and winning strategies.

How about healthy regard for law and order?
A willingness to maintain our place on the international stage while challenging both Putin and Bibi?
An economy that was already the envy of all G7 nations?
Not having clowns like Hegseth and RFK in cabinet positions?
Common sense gun reform?
Tending to the border without unleashing masked, armed goon squads?
Not turning the Oval Office into your personal QVC set?
Separation of church and state?
Not taking a giant **** on the constitution?
Not exploding the deficit by another $3.4T?

Like you said, just basically take the antiMAGA stance on any issue and you're guaranteed to be correct 99.9999999% of the time. Your idiotic party sold its collective soul for this MAGA ******** while you voted for pussies like Nikki Haley who were to scared to flush Trump once and for all when they had the perfect opportunity after J6, so don't act high and mighty when it comes to the state of the party now.

And wake me up when I start a grand announcement thread on here letting everyone know how my vacation went lol. Pathetic, man. Talk about a healthy ego damn.

Mostly anti-Trump stuff instead of real positions...

And all that comes with higher taxes, more entitlements, no border security (as evidenced by last admin), bigger government, dudes playing girls sports, more government dependence, etc etc.

I don't like a lot of things about Trump. But the left is fvcking terrible.

lol and you counter with standard ******** R talking points. i mean some of this stuff is easily reviewable if you just take the time to educate yourself.

Biden and Obama both deported more people than Trump did in his first term. Biden deported like 3X more than Trump did, and Trump isn't on pace in his second term now to match what Biden did even with his goon squad dog and pony show. But go on with the durr durr durr border ********.

Imagine watching how the mainstream R party now operates and having the gall to complain about BiG GoVErNMenT.

Nobody with a brain cares about your Riley Gaines ********. Stop obsessing over your 1/10000000000000 chance you'll ever run up on some trans idiot trying to compete against a girls team that you never knew existed anyway. Go buy a powerball ticket if you want to play those odds.

I know you guys like to cosplay as the only people on this site who have money, but i have no problem paying the taxes I pay. You want to save some money while rural hospitals and VAs get shafted (just read the bill). I see no reason why the supposed greatest planet on earth can't have affordable care for all of its citizens and am happy to contribute to such a plan.

Miss me with your Reagan welfare queen apocrypha when so many of your R brethren took out Covid loans that were forgiven while screaming like hyenas about student loans. The hypocrisy was front and center once again, but you're worried about welfare ******** as corporations take their cuts without any trickle down benefits to non-C suite employees or consumers.

LOL. Border encounter data: https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-land-border-encounters

Your boy sucked *** at the border. He may have deported some people, but he let them flow into the country virtually unchecked.

I can stand here clear of any Covid loans, any government handouts or anything else. Don't really give a **** what others did. I pay more than my fair share and I think it's absolute ******** that your side wants to take even more from my family. The greatest "planet" on earth (I assume you mean country) can enjoy the $400K+ in federal income tax I paid last year and I think that's plenty to provide for those who can't provide for themselves.

You sound like you've grown into them.

Likely under 30, privileged, and indoctrinated by liberal education. He will mature with age and a family, hopefully.

Probably still plays the online video games with other kids

I am thinking @dpic73 is like 10 years old and catfishing us with all the tsunomi of flawed or biased information that he pushes as truthful and accurate

As he matures mentally and emotionally he will become a huge conservative pundit

He does not know it yet but one day he will be the Superman of MAGA principles

That's cool tldr. Are you for or against releasing the Epstein files?
if you're asking me, I don't really care about Epstein files. What Epstein did has no impact on me or my family.

from a country perspective, I personally think we have bigger problems than Epstein. And even if someone discovers more evidence what can we do, Kill him?

I think people from both sides want the files released because of incriminating evidence on people they think are in the other party...which is really kind of funny when you think about it

totally insane response to a case supposedly involving an entire ring of pedophiles.

"what Epstein did has no impact on me or my family."

wow if that's your bar then i guess no biggie for 99.99% of murders/rapes/molestations, right?

what can we do if we discover more evidence about Epstein's associates? is that a serious question?

Pickens, do yourself a favor and look up annual deficits since 2000

the deficits projected are $3.4 trillion over 10 years..that equates to $340 billion/year. In the last nearly 25 years there have only been 1 or 2 years where the annual deficit was that low.

you're somewhat hard to read. You are against deficits but you are against budget cuts, that's kind of nuts. Now I know the answer is to tax billionaires. We are a nation that taxes income. So how many Americans earned $1billion or more last year?

Want to tax wealth? There is only a handful of democrats that would even consider that and zero republicans. I'm not even sure a wealth tax would pass constitutional muster.

So you can keep bringing up the deficit under BBB, just recognise the fact of the numbers

I disagree with why people want the files released. I don't care one iota which party the perps are a part of. I care about a transparent and fair government. One government for all the people, not a separate one for elite politicians and businessmen. I also think it would be grotesque if our own government thought it was OK to abuse little girls at the expense of gaining more power and the idea should disgust you to. It's about what role you think government should play and making sure we all abide by the same set of rules.

No one trusts the government and that loss of trust is the cause of a lot of our society's division in my humble opinion.

LOL if you think the Post or the Times compares to the avalanche of tweets from Russian propaganda bots that the people on the right flood this board with on a daily basis. Whether you acknowledge it or not, those two papers do have high journalistic standards and would pass 99% of fact-checks. Not writing stories you want to read, doesn't make them "fact-deficient."

I'm going to respond to two posts at one time..multitasking.

to fatpiggy Seems as if nobody trusts anybody anymore. As a society we don't trust media, government, salespeople, even our next door neighbors. The only group that gets even a modicum of trust is the military. We all want a government for the people with equal treatment. We really don't have that. Look at the number of people who commit crimes with no repercussions. There was a story about some undocumented migrant who had been arrested something like 300 times, no jail time. We all don't pay the same tax rate. Think Adam Schiff will get jail time or even a trial for mortgage fraud? On Epstein. If there were crimes committed there should be convictions. I'll wait and see.

For dpic, look at my post above. The NYT and post are/have been hemorrhaging subscribers...as have other media outlets. And it doesn't seem as any paper writes it's own news anymore. I subscribe to multiple papers - NY, DC, FLA, PA - and some articles are exactly the same from paper to paper. Why because they all run the same thing with little caveats like "as reported by the NY times".
Now passing fact checks doesn't mean the paper is telling the full story. Look for example at one of Tboone's favorites...Trump budget is adding $3.4 trillion to the deficit..fact check that. Yep it's accurate. What Tboone didn't tell us is that at $340billion/year over the life of the bill the deficits are smaller than only a couple of years since w 2000. fact check that. yep also accurate. So on one side the $3.4 trillion looks really bad..on the other $340billion/year looks better than budgets of Bush, obama, trump, Biden. And just so we're clear, I'm not advocating for deficits of any amount. But I realize that Americans have become so attached to the government teat, that we're not getting to a balanced budget anytime soon without pain all across the board - rich, middle and poor.

There are examples of these kinds of writings every day. Same thing in advertising. I just saw an ad about annuities. just an example. On the one hand analyst says annuities are not the best investment. Yea, that's probably true. Another financial "expert" points out that with an annuity you can get income for life. yep, also true. So both get 100% rating fact check, because both are right. Same thing for our non biased media. Again just my opinion.

No problem with anything that does not affect national security

The Epstein deal was a multi agency spy network deal used as a honeypot so a lot of spy info could be revealed

if you're asking me, I don't really care about Epstein files. What Epstein did has no impact on me or my family.

Its so shocking to me how well people are conditioned and programmed by the media they consume.

Here we have people with STRONG political opinions who CLAIM, probably, to hold those opinions on the basis of STRONG morality, be it religious, secular, logical, emotional... whatever. Here they are, excusing a pedophile ring.

I ask you all HOW have you come to this point? Who cares about which politician on which party gets implicated? You would be ok with covering it up? The abuse of children?

If releasing the Epstein files has national security ramifications... I don't think we should give a damn about protecting the national security of pedophilia. Let it all burn.

to be clear, I'm excusing a pedophile ring. I don't know if there was a ring

I have never heard that there was pedophile activity with Epstein.. a trafficking ring yes, with minors. Yea Maxwell was convicted and she's in jail for trafficking. Knowing that there has to be someone to traffic to, I assume there are some folks who might be a little concerned right now. I find it interesting the Democrats and republicans are pushing for release of all documents and I think they should. But if democrats are pushing it's because they believe there's incriminating evidence on republicans. If republicans are pushing it because they believe there evidence against democrats.

From your post I assume you believe that there are politicians involved. I don't know if that's an accurate assessment or not. My point was simply that Epstein is dead, Maxwell is in jail. Nobody from either party has been concerned for 5 years and now all of a sudden it's the major issue facing the country.

I respect your passion and hope release of information is adequate to answer your questions

It is worth passion in the context that our government is lying to us and we almost ALMOST have complete agreement across the aisles that we want the truth. Apathy and excuses should be shooed away and allow the people to demand the truth from their government.

None of this addresses the point that the Times and the Post are equal to the propaganda coming from the Right. And while the Post is losing subscribers due to the Bezos decision not to endorse a candidate, the NY Times is actually adding subscribers.

"While The New York Times is experiencing a decline in print subscribers, its digital subscription numbers are significantly increasing, resulting in overall subscriber growth and robust subscription revenue. The company is successfully transitioning to a digital-first model, with digital-only subscriptions driving growth and offsetting losses in print.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Declining Print Subscriptions:
Print subscriptions are indeed decreasing, with the number of print subscribers falling to 610,000 at the end of last year, down from 660,000 at the end of 2023 and 730,000 at the end of 2022 according to The New York Times.

  • Surging Digital Subscriptions:
The New York Times has seen a substantial increase in digital subscriptions. At the end of the first quarter of 2025, they had approximately 11.66 million subscribers across all their products, with 11.06 million being digital-only. This includes a net increase of 350,000 digital-only subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2024.

    • Digital Subscriptions Drive Revenue:
Subscription revenues, particularly from digital-only products, are a major growth area for The New York Times. In the first quarter of 2025, subscription revenues totaled $464.3 million, an 8.2% increase year-over-year. Digital-only subscription revenues jumped 14.4% to $335 million.
    • Future Growth Expected:
The company anticipates continued strength in its subscription business, with projections for 8-10% total subscription revenue growth and 13-16% growth in digital-only subscription revenues for the second quarter of 2025. "

While I agree on principle, even including myself in that, it truly doesn't come close on this board on which side is slamming the board with nonsense and insults.

I would also argue that I personally felt we may have gone too far Left with the identity politics, but the readjustment is seemingly trying to take us back to the 1960s

The attempt by right wing people in the admin to reinstate confederate bases, reinstate "Indian" names, punish universities, is going waaaayyyy too far for most of us. The use of the term "retarded" and similar is gross and mean and is not the America I want to be part of and there is a concerted effort to bring that stuff back.
Still projecting. For years you people on the left have done that on this very board. At first I was very civil but when all you do is call names when somebody has a different pov than you, at some point people are just going to treat you like you have been treating them. All the lies you people have told and been caught saying. Nobody trust you anymore. So cry me a river if your feelings are hurt now. You asked for it in the end. You was told FAFO...

I continually get lumped in with the far Left, and then I get told repeatedly that I believe at stand for things I've never agreed with, and many times how vehemently been against.

Apparently according to MAGA because I don't want to be an ******* to people, I should call them insults, refuse to call them how they would like me to, and basically treat them like crap.

The whataboutism is wild because it's just so clearly not the same stuff.

I'm constantly told im a communist on this board, by people who don't even understand what communism actually is. Anyway, I think its fair to state that I in no way, think that every MAGA is a nazi or aligns with the things the person stated in the video said. However, it is very apparent that fascists are getting waaaaaay too comfortable these days in Maga America.

Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian ultranationalist political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, and suppression of opposition. It prioritizes the nation or race above individual rights and often involves a strong regimentation of society and the economy. Fascism typically opposes democracy, liberalism, and socialism.

Fascism originated in italy....
Italian fascism (Italian: fascismo italiano), also called classical fascism and fascism, is the original fascist ideology, which Giovanni Gentile and Benito Mussolini developed in Italy. The ideology of Italian fascism is associated with a series of political parties led by Mussolini: the National Fascist Party (PNF), which governed the Kingdom of Italy from 1922 until 1943, and the Republican Fascist Party (PFR), which governed the Italian Social Republic from 1943 to 1945. Italian fascism also is associated with the post–war Italian Social Movement (MSI) and later Italian neo-fascist political organisations.

DON’T KNOW WHAT JUST A CAVEAT
to be clear, I'm excusing a pedophile ring.

Democrats are desperate to find a distraction

This is a total waste of time in regards to political points

If you are against pedophilia then why are you making excuses for the government lying to its citizens about a pedo blackmail network perpetuated by the CIA and Mossad?

see that's where we have a disagreement. I don't know know if there's more propaganda coming from the right. I respect that you believe that and that's OK. But, I think back just a few years at things like Hunter's laptop, pee tapes, border secure (I could go on) and, to me, it seems as if there was plenty of propaganda or just maybe poor reporting coming from those two papers.

Why don't we just agree that there's bad information, or at best, incomplete information coming from the media.

I learned a long time ago that you can't believe everything you read or hear in the media.

The use of the term "retarded" and similar is gross and mean and is not the America I want to be part of and there is a concerted effort to bring that stuff back.
yoshi, you remember the 60's? "fun" times, assassinations, fun protests, war (I was there) , free love (I missed that part), Offensive tackles were huge if they weighed in at 250 pounds.
By the way, the government was lying to us even then.

I doubt there has ever been a government that hasn't lied.

I was born in 74 so no sixties for me lol. Sounds like fun though.

want to see what was going on back then ? watch Vietnam:the turning point. I think it's on Netflix.

The reason they call it "the turning point" I think, is because that when the government took lying to a new level

Honestly, the Epstein thing wasn't a big deal to me, the guy is dead, his accomplice is in prison. It was just a conspiracy that we read all the time to denigrate Dems and people that Q and MAGA hated.

Everyone knew Epstein and Trump were buddies, they ran in the same circles, had friends in common, wasn't really a big deal to me, particularly when combined with all the sleazy stuff he's always said about women and girls which I always thought was worse.

That said, his sudden desire to bury the files, insult his base, try to avoid people looking into it, send Congress home early, etc looks shady as hell. It sure seems like some stuff is in there he does not want to get out.

What I can't figure out, is what? What is so damning that he seems this desperate to bury it?

Italian fascism also is associated with the post–war Italian Social Movement (MSI) and later Italian neo-fascist political organisations.
its origins are rooted in Marxist doctrine which is far from rightwing. Mussolini was a member of the Italian Socialist Party for many years. He later got away from Socialism to create his own fascist movement. But that movement is far from rightwing or conservative. In current times he has way more in common with the left in America. But I noticed you didnt list anything that Trump is doing to back your claim that he's a fascist. Biden and Obama has done several things that meet the definition of fascist. Didnt see you calling them out....

The left has no principles. Thats why they contradict themselves all the time and their ideas cant stand to any scrutiny and lacks any logic. Its all emotional for them. When we call out Trump they laugh at us and mock us while at the same time say we are in a cult that just goes along with him. They always defended their people like Biden. I mean who's really in a cult here lol...
