Should be same as last year flip floping home away. But who are they playing in place of the trip to fla last year?

LCA is replacing Fla team. I have been hearing nothing but good things, get most players back, QB should be really good and weight room stats has been better than ever according to a few reliable sourcesShould be same as last year flip floping home away. Yes and I am looking forward to itIm so looking forward to see how LCA does when they face public schools this year. Amherst going to be tough, Appomattox has to play them at Amherst this year.
I saw the Amherst JV in the 1st game of the year and they were good. They will have a big Jr class this year & return a lot of good Varsity players. I saw them in the playoff game. I look forward to seeing Amherst at home this year should be a good game. Salem will have to replace 7 on the OL/DL, their FB/RB, 2 in the secondary, and a LB. (12 total starting positions)One thing that I've seen with Amherst is the transfers from Nelson. QB Turner and RB Jerry Page are 2 damn good players that transferred from Nelson and I think Amherst has a couple of more. I wish they were an hour and 15 minutes down the road on 29 south in Danville lol it's still shocking that Nelson of all places had two young men of that caliber! I think this is the year that the Lancers get back to the Big Game and I say that with a lot of confidence..Yes Salem is going to be good but the Lancers get the luxury of playing them early in the season. They also get Appo, Brookville, LCA, Heritage, Glass will be improved thanks to Coach Woody, Rustburg, and a well coached JF team.. I think they have the most challenging schedules of the contenders in 4a West. People talk about Navy Jones, but Jerry Page is somebody that needs to be talked about..Kid showed glimpses of greatness in 2015, and all I have to say is wait to this year. It's going to be a great year in Lancer Land.

I think it's okay. I mean Nelson hasn't been relavant since they won the state basketball championship in 08. I'm all for a kid trying to better their scholarship opportunities. Amherst runs a very clean and respectable program, a lot of pride there.that is a challenging schedule!!! Yes, Jerry Page is the real deal. Many of them kids supposed to be at Nelson as u have previously mentioned. I dont know how they get away with that.
Salem is going to be the team to beat whether their whole team is coming back or if they're replacing all 22 starters. I think if any team beats Salem, it's Amherst. Yeah Pulaski will be good, but they don't play the schedule Amherst plays. We won't know if Pulaski is for real until the last week of the season when they play Salem. I see GW Danville going 10-0/9-1 this year, but they play a very weak schedule and will have a lot of youth..Realistically, they don't challenge Salem for another year or two..Sherando is going to be very good as usual and I think a team like Woodgroove could sneak up, but at the end of the day, I see this Amherst team being Salem's only roadblock.I saw the Amherst JV in the 1st game of the year and they were good. They had to replace 18 from the year before so they responded well obviously. Still a motivated Amherst in game 1 will be a good challenge, looking forward to it. It should be the best regular season opponent for the Spartans.
Not getting away with anything, they transferred and I know that Amherst plays by the rulesthat is a challenging schedule!!! Yes, Jerry Page is the real deal. Many of them kids supposed to be at Nelson as u have previously mentioned. I dont know how they get away with that.
Yes, the Lancers play a tough schedule but I like that. If they get there, they will have earned it. I would want it no ther way. Good luck to them. One thing that I've seen with Amherst is the transfers from Nelson. I always respect everyone's opinion so don't take it the wrong way when I ask what 6 games do you see them losing and 4 games winning? Personally, I see them losing to Salem (it'll be a good game either way), Appo (if Appo's QB situation works out as Advocate stated), and Heritage, who is my favorite to win 3a this year, but they'd be doing well to finish 7-3 or better with their hard schedule.Maybe this is the year for a revival of real Amherst County football. I hope these kids get the most out of their high school football season/career. It is just hard sitting in the stands watching the lack of enthusiasm from the coaches. Outside of football Phillips does a lot of good things with the kids. That is very positive I applaud him for that. Seems to be a very stand up guy from the times I met him. Hate to bring it up but numbers don't lie. How does the B team and jv teams dominate so many teams? Then a couple years down the Rd get beat by the same kids they are playing against. The talent is MORE then there. I grew up watching Maurice Clark, Alonzo Matthews, Larry Hunter, Cam Jackson play. They might not be as big but the skill is there. They play a tough schedule which is good. But I see them going 4-6. I remember when I was a senior and a captain we played two games in a week. One of gw's players got on this same board talking trash. Coach printed it off and hung it around the locker room. Then one of the other captains gave it to him after the game. For all I know it's still at the 50 yard line. I know yall read this. Use it as motivation and bring AMHERST back!
Let'em Seminole schedule gonna make them think twice bout playing public schools. They'll be luck to be in middle of pack in Seminole.Lca shouldn't be playing private schools.
its not that teams are afraid, they gonna cry and wanna come to 2A soon. lol, then they will recruit harder when they start losing. i so despise them.Let'em Seminole schedule gonna make them think twice bout playing public schools. They'll be luck to be in middle of pack in Seminole.
Don't know why everyone been afraid of them Amherst has handled them in the past an the years lca won where some of the worest Amherst team I've seen.
And also when Kirby had surgery and didn't playLet'em Seminole schedule gonna make them think twice bout playing public schools. They'll be luck to be in middle of pack in Seminole.

Me too and everyone on this Board knows how I feelits not that teams are afraid, they gonna cry and wanna come to 2A soon. lol, then they will recruit harder when they start losing. i so despise them.
Can you give us a few hints? There might be some surprises when the 2017 schedules come out.
Hopefully GW puts Amherst back on the schedule. I understand we took them off because of their Florida trip and we locked in Vance for 2 years, but this was one of our best rivalries.. Hopefully we do the right thing and leave the Piedmont and go to the SeminoleThere might be some surprises when the 2017 schedules come out.
Tommy, I saw them on the GW Football Facebook page! They're absolutely gorgeous! So happy for the kids and I think it's going to be another great year. And you're right! I think a stronger out of district schedule negates all of the "weak district" talks. I trust in Coach Anderson. He is doing all the right things and is going to put the guys in a great position to be successful.GW will stay in the Piedmont. Travel and attendance is more favorable. Would not think the Seminole would want GW's basketball program to compete with. GW also likes basketball games with Martinsville, Halifax, MV, and Franklin Co. BTW Danville Sportshead, you will love GW's new Riddell Speed helmets. Top of the line in an awesome silver.

the day LCA fans finds out about these boards is the day fireworks gonna set off up in here. lol, gonna grab popcorn for that.
I think LCA not having the automatic academic scholarship to LU will deter transfers from the city. What incentive is there to transfer without the scholarship? They will struggle in the Seminole imo. If things would have remained the way they were, they would have been competitive in the SD. They'll be doing good to go 5-5 once they are full members next year. It will take a while for them to be competitive in this district if ever. At least they'll be able to fill their schedules easier, travel less, and increase gate. The lawsuit did mention that the VHSL was hurting LCA monetarily by not allowing their admission. So if their goal was to make more money I think they'll succeed. We can all agree, no disrespect to the LCA fans on this board, that LCA won't be able to compete in the Seminole in football. The Seminole is one of the state's best district year in and year out in ALL SPORTS. I see them being okay in basketball and baseball, but like many of you have pointed out, I just don't see them being able to compete with JF, Heritage, Amherst, Liberty, etc year in and year out...That's a darn good district, consistently.

LCA plays area schools in every other sport and they hold their own. They may eventually get competitive in the Seminole, but I think what they gave up to get in will increase the amount of time it will take for them to be competitive.
