Anyone see the Stag bowl on Fri night. My alma mater Cortland beat perennial Champ North Central Illinois 38-37 in a classic 15 round fight to win the D3 National Championship.
Cortland's QB Zac Boyes was simply outstanding. Passed for 5 TD's, all in the 2nd half, passed for 349 yds & ran for 123. No Ints.
Listed at 6' & 195lbs, he has a strong arm & great touch. Put the long ball right on the money & delivers nice swing & screen passes. Very poised in the pocket. Just doesn't get rattled. Can escape the rush[eyes in the back of his head]. Looks off the defender. Can really run both on designed & on broken plays. Very fast & tough runner.
Boyes is light years better than Wimsatt. My son, who knows football, said he is one of the best QB's, if not the best, he has seen this year. Kid will be a Sr. next year. Schiano should keep an eye on him.
