From the one and only @DinwiddieProud
I would like to suggest that we have a very informal meet and greet at 3:00 on Saturday.
I'm suggesting 3:00, but would like suggestions for any other time. I figure that the first game should be wrapped up by then, and our friends that came just to the 3a game will want to get on the road as quickly as possible. And I think anyone coming to just the second game should be there by then?
As far as exactly where, I need some help. Certainly inside the stadium. And near some easily found landmark that may not be excessively crowded. And, it needs to be somewhere that Mike Salem can get to in his motorized chair with no problems.
This will be nothing formal. No rules, no obligations, no nothing. Just a chance to shake hands with old friends, and a chance to make new ones. Ok, there is one rule..., it's ok to forget somebody's name, or even to not recognize someone you have only met once or twice. Just come by and say hi, that's all. We have been doing this when we could over the last couple of years, and some tremendous friendships have developed. So just plan to swing by, say hi, and be on your way.
By the way, let me mention this. Mike is in his motorized chair. Many, if not most people find it awkward to greet or to talk with someone with a disability. Mike has MS. That's all there is to it. He ain't contagious. He is not self conscious. And there isn't a damn thing wrong with his brain, (except this Salem fan thing, but we are working on that.) His wit is second to none. I say all of this because he and his chair is the landmark we will all be looking for. He is hard to miss in his shiny red chair.
So, you W&M alumni suggest an appropriate place to meet. And if you think 3:00 is not the best time, please tell us.
