The awbarn fans cussed him all night. They got what they derseved. He didn't do anything to the vandy fans, the were just pissed he hit that long shot to send it into overtime. Who knows what the vols are about. I can't figure them out.
So, just to clarify, are you saying that it is acceptable for him to behave like an untrained circus ape? I would think you UM fellas would be embarrassed by his trashy behavior.

Again, what he did at awbarn was no big deal to me. He didn't flip them off or anything like that. All he did was flip his jersey at them. Players have been doing that since the beginning of time. If a player for yall had been hounded all night, and after he won the game did what Marshall did, u would enjoy the crap out of it. And the vandy fans didn't like his celebrating after he hit the game tying shot. That's Marshall, he acts crazy. Hey, I don't expect anyone on here to like him. If he played for anyone else, I wouldn't like him. But he's ours, so we just smile and enjoy his show. U have to admit, he puts butts in the seats. And he was the talk of the tourney. No one on here can deny that. When people get to know him, they generally like him. Announcers say that all the time. He's a good kid, just screwy.

I'll take a stab at backing up pat's view

Using your very narrow minded approach, the Pac 12 has two Sweet 16 teams to one for the new Big East - which means absolutely nothing when comparing the UCLA and Butler coaching jobs.

Not sure if this is what pat is thinking, but it's something that supports his view, so here ya go.

UCLA is crazier that UK. They have more unrealistic standards that anyone.

Lavin had a top recruiting class, made the Sweet 16 5 out of the first 6 seasons, had an elite8 in there, and was fired after a single bad season.
Homeland made 3 final fours in a row, has won the conference, did that this season, and was fired.

When given the choice between that situation and one with stability and far less scrutiny, which makes more sense?
yes, the pay is higher at UCLA, one must assume. And yes, the glory could be higher because the potential is higher.
But the expectations are so far beyond anything that is reasonable, it's just a recipe for short term employment and absurd amounts of scrutiny.
No thanks that's not appealing.

Yes, that is what they say.

I don't know who is selling this spiel to everyone or how it's working, but whatever they put in that drink was strong. I honestly think most believe his behavior is "okay".

Just like UK basketball and Bama football, UCLA expects more and will keep trying until they get it. And when places like that finally land a coach that can live up to the expectations - that's how legends are born. Coaches live for those types of opportunities.

Interesting.

So, he kicks some water bottles across the floor, understandably booed, and throws the fingers up in response to that. And then he's probably told to lie about it later.

Shocker.

So many things to argue with here. If one of ours went to the opposing teams' student section and did what he did at Auburn, I'd be embarrassed as hell by it. As for him being the talk of the tourney, I'd say his piss poor shot selection and trashy behavior were the focal points. Seriously, has that d-bag ever seen a shot he wouldn't take. You guys had some talent besides him on that team and would've been better served spreading the ball around. And good kids don't flip off an entire arena after a close loss. Take the loss like a man, shake the hand of your victor, bow your head in defeat and get your *** in the locker room. Flipping off the crowd? That's the behavior of a petulant man-child in a situation with no accountability.

"Good" kids don't get run off from 2 programs and have felony arrests on their record. Would you want your daughter anywhere near this "good" kid? Or even your son for that matter?

your and idiot...

And he doesn't drink or do lines of coke , smoke crack or weed either

He left TT after the coach left, he didn't get run off. Seems telling the truth gets yelled at on here. He left Utah because of an incident. He left Texas Tech cause Coach Knight left, u now, the one that recruited him. So he didn't get run off from Texas Tech. So Pat, I tell u something that's true, and u call me a troll. And some others on here show their IQ also. Also, never saw anything about crack smoking, unless I missed it.

Just curious...if he's such an embarrassment for OM, shouldn't state fans should be enjoying the hell out of this? I certainly don't condone the double bird to opposing fans, but to act like we should all be tremendously upset about it is ridiculous. He's not fighting in the stands with his own players...he's playing his heart out for his team. He made SEC basketball fun to watch. How many other kids after winning 1 NCAA game were interviewed by Chuck Barkley? How many other college players in the Nation have over 50,000 twitter followers? He practically took over Yahoo sports at one time during the tourney. I don't agree with everything he does, but if you think we're not enjoying the OM brand being front and center, you're badly mistaken. We are riding a wave of momentum right now from bowl win to recruiting to basketball (and the pub of MH) to a great baseball team that we've really never experienced before in one yr, and yes, we are enjoying it. Now for a fan base that accuses us of being "holier than thou", don't go getting all "holier than thou" on us

Ya'll still do that right? Think there's anything to the fact that it was only a big issue when ya'll we're such a good team when it 1st came on the scene? Seems to me it was getting some publicity at that time, and your team with it. Kinda like the attention we're getting from MH. People know OM basketball now who never would've paid any attention to it before MH. The pros WAY outweigh the cons, at this point anyway

Yeah I'm sure that if he Henderson played for MSU

Ole miss fans wouldn't be bashing this guy at all and you would all agree that he is great for the program

Don't get sucked into "any pub is good pub"

We did with Sidney. We became a punchline. You will too with Henderson. It's already started.

Surely you're not comparing a lazy fata$$ who fought with his own teammates on SportCenter, and basically ruined the season when state had arguably the most talented team in the SEC, with MH. Two totally different animals. Your own Matt Wyatt commented this week on MH, "He plays 110 miles an hour the entire game. That's what we should be talking about." Again, I'm not crazy about his antics, but the Pros at this point WAY outweigh the Cons

So it sounds like we can agree that we're both glad he doesn't play for state. Who says our fans can't agree?!?!

Hey, I wish Sidney played half as hard as Henderson,

but it's not like Henderson is especially great at basketball. He's a 35%, volume shooter. He's also a nutcase criminal that acts like a wild thug with anger issues. There's already been multiple segments on popular shows and articles written that may as well be titled "why Marshall Henderson sucks."

You think fighting with your own teammates in the stands is bad? Wait for Henderson to pull a Ron Artest and go punch some fans. Would that really surprise you?

Charles Barkley called him "a terrific player, who he loved to watch", but what does he know? And yes, it would shock me if he actually fought with fans. Look, bottom line, I'm supposed to call him a thug and hate that he's on my team? Sorry I just won't and don't. I'm tickled to death he plays for us, and yes, I would hate him if he played for another SEC team (especially state). I am just having trouble understanding why its so important to state fans that OM fans feel the way we're "supposed" to feel about him. We just don't, sorry. And even if we did, we'd never say so, its too much fun for us to read about why we should
