To answer your questions:

1. Because he's one of the worst kickers, statistically, in the nation.
2. Me, and many, many MSU fans.
3. Yes.

Are you serious?

Of course kicker is a major concern. In close games, sometimes a made or missed FG makes all the difference. Look at our loss to Auburn. If Bell makes the 35-yard field goal and we kick the PAT, it's 24-24 and we go to OT. Also, missed field goals can kill a team's momentum. See the LSU game. If Bell makes an easy kick we're down just 2 points going into the 4th quarter. Instead, he misses, we get deflated, LSU scores and the game is over. If we are ever going to beat a good team, it will probably be in a close game. And we are severely handicapped in close games by a kicker who can't even make short field goals.

WE haven't lost ANY game becuae of the damn kicker. that's a bunch of BS that our team is "deflated". Your deflated...and I am, but it had not part in any loss yet, and I doubt we will be close enough to a good team for it to matter.

He's probably one of the reasons we went for it on 4th and 4. we miss that chip shot, BG has the ball on the 20. With Dak missing the 1st down, BG has to go 95 yards.

ummm Yes.

Does that even rank in the top 5 of our issues?

It affects many areas of the game. It affects the play calling. It affects momentum. It affects the score. It affects the crowd. It affects our players attitudes in the game. And when your only 17ing job is to kick the damn ball, you shouldn't be 50/50 inside 40 yards.

********. If you don't think the team gets 17ing tired of busting their *** to watch our 17ing kicker shank kicks, then you don't have a 17ing clue. And I'll put Auburn on his *** and last night he was a dropped pass from losing us that game. Bell makes the first chip shot, then there is no question mullen kicks the 2nd FG. And like someone else said, if we would have kicked it and Bell missed (which is an excellent possibility), then we lose last night. The difference of them being in FG range was them starting at the 6 instead of the 20.

How important is are FGs? If BG hits a 45 yard FG we're all seriously ready to fire Mullen today.

A good kicker gives us the ability to put 3, 6, or maybe even 9 points on the board while not having to reach the 15 yard line. Having no confidence in our kicker ouside of the 15 yard line completely changes the way we have to play the game.

He passe up a three point chip shot that Bell would not have missed. An amazingly bad decision. WTF is going on in Mullen's head? Not only would the three points have sealed our victory; it also would have helped Bell develop as a kicker (and he is our guy at this time). Mullen needs to let got of his illusions of grandeur and coach the 17 out of his team and his players. This cute, couuterintuitive **** is both dumb and old. And it hurts us. Mullen's cuteness has not helped us a single time.

Ha that's laughable. there is no chip shot for Bell. Especially with the pressure. He's already missed 1 or 2 extra points and barely made several more and that's from the 2 dead center. being up 4 with 3 mins to go is not a sealed victory. Just go look at the Auburn game. And help Bell develop as a kicker? seriously? There's only so much you can do. He's been here 2 years. If he can't do any better than 50/50 from 40 and in, then he's about as developed as he's going to get. Bell's already missed a 35, 32 and 30 yard FG's this year. that's 3 17ing FG's he's missed inside the 20 yard line.

Similar to the conservative play calling right before a half and when playing elite opponents, he was playing not to lose because he had no confidence in his kicker just like his offense. This time it was warranted and it luckily worked. We won because we didn't let him kick.
