And yet another wasted chance tonight....had a chance to make a big statement....
Going to Reed again when he has been torched by SEC competition this season shows me what I already knew about Cohen. Stubbornness.
In basketball or football, personnel determines what you must do to compete. Some players take more shots, some players get more carries etc. etc. It doesnt matter what personnel you have out there on the diamond, the actual game will be played mostly the same. Everyone hits, everyone has a position. You play the hitters that get on base the most. Period.
John Cohen seems to look at the game as a basketball or football coach where he thinks its his job to scheme and plot his way around a rather simple game. There are times for stealing, bunting(late innings), hit-and runnning, etc, but John Cohen takes these things and throws proportionality out the window and instead uses nearly every opportunity that a runner gets on to meddle and scheme, leaving little chance for the big inning, the one that wins games. Big innings allow a pitcher to relax and pitch his game, not worry about giving up that tying run in a 3-2 game. They force the other team to play more recklessly. By meddling scheming and plotting, John Cohen forces us to play tighter and not reach our potential at the plate.
