At least that's what the general sentiment on the Spirit seems to be. A few quotes:

<h4><span style="font-weight: normal;">"Cab driver should be charged for kidnapping and false statements"</span></h4>"What a mess that muslim man has put himself into. I just hate that Kennedy and his staff had to get wrapped up in that crazy man's business."

<h4><span style="font-weight: normal;">"The cabbie should be deported.........</span> "
</h4>"Mohammed, the cab driver should be charged with brutalization of the english language. After listening to the cab driver on WLW, you can tell the cabbie is nothing but a scumbag."

"HUSSEIN, probably not a US citizen, either, MAYBE HE WILL BE SENT BACK TO HIS NATIVE LAND"

"...the cabbie was a racist Middle-easterner and was actually the one that yelled the racial stuff."

Move along. Nothing to see here.

Just because AK is hated at State, all you homers are taking the cabbie's story to be gospel.

you pretty much despise Arabs. We get it. If you post about it aGAIN, you are gone.

Was the coach and his entourage really at the Lodge on college night? Do you think they were just getting a late meal? If our coach did this I would be bothered, even if I believed that he did nothing illegal.

Automatically assuming the best for AK makes the Spirit group a bunch of homers. However, automatically assuming the worst for AK makes you and anyone else who does so a Gene's Page homer.

That's just the way it is. It's not as bad as you and many of your buddies want it to be, and it's not as good as the Spirit homers want it to be.

Edited to add: It's like when the Level III incident happened. The Spirit homers immediately went with the story that 6 MSU players jumped a cop, just like many of you are running with the story of AK being a drunk bigot. At the same time, the Gene's Page homers were claiming the Level III six were trying to break up a fight and were acting in self-defense.

The truth, as always, is somewhere in the middle.

Do you know him?
Oh that's right. He is a scumbag because he is an Arab and a Muslim. And to your ignorant, foolish, pathetic, and RACIST mind, all people that are Arabs are scumbags. Sir, that is the definition of racism. Thanks for outing yourself again. Please don't act like there is anything American about that.

i think you'll see that most people here believe the story to be somewhere in the middle. they don't, however, believe he went out to a "late supper" at a bar.

i'm just enjoying this. i think you'll find most state fans are. nothing gene's page about that.

....1) Andy Kennedy and the other guy were arrested. Not disputed.
2) A cab driver is claiming to have been assaulted and had racial slurs thrown at him. Not disputed.
3) A police officer stated that the cabbie's face was swollen. Not disputed.
4) Andy Kennedy has a history of being seen at various nightspots and drinking alot. Not disputed.

If you were, say, a totally neutral party, what conclusion would you draw from those facts? Both sides have stories that contradict each other, so throw those out.

I have no idea what happened either way- most likely both parties are somewhat guilty of something, however, the ridiculous story that rebeljim or whoever it was posted earlier from AK's brother is exactly that: ridiculous. Anyone that would believe that story is an idiot.</p>

It's not as bad as I want it to be? I hate that this has happened. Kennedy and his posse have given the media another occasion to jump on Mississippi's perceived racism. Nine out of ten people don't give a damn which school the guy coaches for.

he brings a different perspective but it's ridiculous what he is posting. This is when post counts do matter because if he had 10 posts, he would have already been gone.

I'm of the opinion that everyone should feel free to state their own opinion on any topic as long as they are not breaking a known board rule.

In all honesty, if a Rebel came over here and said some of the things some here have said on NAFOOM today....he would be banned from this board.

I am not a racist, but the way I acted today made me look like one. Someone from a foreign country that comes to America and works hard and does their best to live in peace is more American then I am by just being born here. I have always believed that and I did not mean to demean arabs or muslims. Please accept my apology for making a complete *** of myself.

I had diarrhea of the mouth today. If my real name was posted by the things I said today on this website I probably wouldn't have said them at all and I am ashamed of that.

Well, that and the fact the left side of the cabbie's face was swollen. That doesn't prove that his every word is true, but it is a pretty damn good indication that somebody punched him.

If in fact the cab driver locked his passengers in then I would say that he was hit in self defense. A cab driver has no right to lock you in his cab. Locking someone in your car against your will is kidnapping and a person has every right to defend themselves in such a situation.

Maybe they just want the whole thing to go away. Filing charges against the cab driver for kidnapping would just make it all worse. I am not saying that I think the cab driver was going to kidnap the group and hold them hostage. However, if he did lock the doors and did not let them get out, that is technically kidnapping and self defense would be warranted in that situation. Honestly, I think the whole thing could and should have been avoided by less alcohol and just paying the cab driver the nominal fee he was asking for. However, I am just saying that I don't automatically think AK is guilty just because he is the Ole Miss BBall coach.

I think some charges are being contemplated.

As for the cabbie, he's hired an attorney.

Why does he need an attorney (with no charges filed against him) unless he's trying to profit?
