If Robbinsville and Murphy can avoid injuries they are my picks in 1A and 2A. Both teams have tough non conference schedules to start the season and it could come down to staying healthy early in the season.

You would pick Murphy over Tarboro? As for Robbinsville I believe they will win multiple state championships in this new format. With most of the good teams in 2a now the only threat is one of these so called "public/prep" schools could win it.

I've heard Wilson Prep has looked good. I am still taking the knights, but wouldn't shock me to see Wilson Prep really make things interesting.

That's one of the schools I was thinking about. What about Coravain? I know I butchered the name lol.
Corvian lost some skill players from last year's squad, but I believe they have some really good lineman coming back. Not sure if they will be as good as last year, but they will certainly be in the mix in the west.

Everyone in SMC would be overmatched against Tarboro except Murphy. Murphy’s non conference opponents would not be overmatched against Tarboro IMO.

Tarboro is playing their toughest schedule overall in a while. They'll be plenty battle tested come playoff time. I definitely think Robbinsvillie could win 4 in a row. All depends on what Wilson prep does

I would have to disagree with that. Every SMC team including Murphy would be out matched by Tarboro. With the exception of Reynolds there is not a non conference opponent close to Tarboro on their schedule. That being said I think Murphy will be a really good team and should make it deep in the playoffs.

Your right. Usually they have some other posters that will jump in. Probably the move to on 3 has thrown them a curve.
No doubt, so far I think it’s you, me and SMC Observer as the only SMC dudes on here atm. I’ll represent Cherokee & Swain so if we can get an Andrews/Rville guy we will be set. 😂

I agree, though Murphy didn’t lose their first game so looks like they are already off to a hot start as opposed to years past where they typically start the season cold. Time will tell all.

I agree with most of this but I will say Heard County GA is the real deal and that will probably prove to be the best team Murphy plays all year unless they make it Tarboro, honestly they may even be on that level.

Heard County brought everybody back from a team Murphy was very fortunate to beat last year, they're a spread team with a lot of athletes and a lot of size. Their junior QB runs a 4.5 and has a couple D1 offers and they have a 6'5 290 lb freshman defensive tackle that already has D1 offers and will end up being a big time high major recruit.
