...I would say there was no more than 25K there, although it was still a great crowd for a spring game.

Other thoughts...

Farewell, Flick. What a refreshing change of events.

The jumbotron looks much better in person than the original artist renderings.

The difference in our special teams is quite apparent.

Was CB9 running the game clock today?

State fans really stepped up. I was way off. I thought State fans were just not interested in spring games in general. Jackie's most hyped spring game of '00 or '01 did not draw a 1/3 of todays crowd.</p>

I sat in chairbacks right over the middle of the endzone closest to the 'tron. That's about as wide of a viewing angle as their is - and it looked good from there as it does from anywhere else.

kind of like jumbotron size, I guess. The numbers are just guesstimates anyway, from what I know. Congrats on a large turnout. Remember also, we did not have a baseball game on campus this weekend, which always adds to the numbers.

I don't guess you've heard that Spring football game attendance not only a reliable predictor of the success of an upcoming football season, but also a leading indicator of a school's academic prowess. It sucks you guys had less than us.

I assume you are being sarcastic about not having a home baseball game this weekend? By the way, there were over 10.000 at the baseball game Saturday

No, actually I wasn't. Having a baseball game on campus always adds to the number of people on campus and pads your spring game numbers. A lot of folks I know would make the drive for a combo spring game, baseball game, but might not for just the practice game. If you have a long way to travel, the more activities you have going on, the more people who will make the effort.

Wait, wasn't the MSU game free of charge to anyone who happened by? Cause the Grove Bowl wasn't.

we aren't coming off of a Cotton Bowl championship season though. On a side note, that helmet in your avatar is pretty sweet. Ole Miss should switch to it.

There wasn't anybody taking tickets or even keeping count at the gates. Still a nice crowd, enjoyed watching the baseball game on the Moo Tube. Man, that jumbotron made me practically ignore what was going on on the field.

Oh, good to see Broccoli hit that 57 yarder.

P.S. Chris Relf looked better than Tyson Lee.

I doubt there were tons of people wandering by Scott Field today who had no idea there was a game on, but nevertheless, that is an interesting theory.

Who was counting? I'm sure no one counted me unless they had some kind of secret laser or heat sensing device hidden around the gates.

I don't think Broccoli's 57 yarder would've been good during a game - if anyone had stood up straight it'd have taken their head off. But it is refreshing to have guys with decent legs.

they sent tickets to season ticket holders for as many season tickets your purchased. So Ole Miss sent out over 35K tickets for the spring game.

That does look good. A lot better than what they have now.

I am a season ticket holder. I didn't get any free tickets in the mail.... nor did anyone else.
Everybody there paid $10 a ticket. All of the money goes into the scholarship fund.... same as it has every year.

It's really amusing all the things you routinely just make up out of the air on this board.
Part of the reason I occasionally visit this board is to read your comments. They're hilarious!!

or the guy that works next to me didn't give away 6 of his 8 tickets that he received for free from the UMAA.

Thanks for reading.
