Im sure there are plenty of "experts" on this board that can fill that role.Great. Now get a couple of fat asses at 325+ who will clog up the middle and can’t be moved.

NU got a kid from JUCO and a depth player from Pitt, so those inclined to look at the glass half empty will complain about the lack of "difference makers". The coaching staff has better regard for the RB room than the folks on this board, thoughts are very much not in line on that psn.Just got two great DT's and it didn't hurt that Nebraska finally named it's DL coach. Time to still add two more offensive linemen and one more great edge rusher. The only spot I'm really concerned about is the RB spot unless something is going on behind the scenes.
We need P4 starter quality DT's, and it's questionable if either of the additions will end up being that.@skin-tight where you at? You've been whining about lack of D lineman for weeks.![]()
I agree. Two solid recruits but still not the stud NT we needWe need P4 starter quality DT's, and it's questionable if either of the additions will end up being that.
The staff doesn't exactly have a lot of room in the "I told you so" department. Despite having an All-American RB, our rushing numbers were bottom half in the conference. There was quite a bit of chirping on this board last offseason about the need to replace Nash and Ty. And those posters were absolutely right, our DL unit sucked this past season.NU got a kid from JUCO and a depth player from Pitt, so those inclined to look at the glass half empty will complain about the lack of "difference makers". There is no way we are done with DT for this cycle.I agree. Two solid recruits but still not the stud NT we need
Glass half full vs glass half empty perspective comes down to how much do you believe in this staff’s ability to identify talent and then develop it. To believe, you need to hope in something that has not been seen to date. Remember Rhule claiming our lines were going to be dominant last fall? Can’t trust anything he says on the topic. He’s either a bald-faced liar, or he’s too stupid to know what he is looking at.NU got a kid from JUCO and a depth player from Pitt, so those inclined to look at the glass half empty will complain about the lack of "difference makers". You just concentrate on Greenland. Going down soon.We need P4 starter quality DT's, and it's questionable if either of the additions will end up being that.
AgreedThere is no way we are done with DT for this cycle.
Have picked up a couple that may develop into contributors down the road, but the most glaring need on the team still hasn't been addressed for NEXT season.
Or Rhule believed that and still believes the players are capable of more. There is a reason the DL coach and Butler were cashiered before the bowl game. White's running defense was attack and pursue. Butler's was not. Rhule commented earlier in the season that he had taken a step back in terms of practice involvement. He will not make that mistake again.Glass half full vs glass half empty perspective comes down to how much do you believe in this staff’s ability to identify talent and then develop it. Why is Greenland in this topic. You just concentrate on Greenland. Going down soon.
I think it depends what type of defense we end up running. He's certainly not a NT in a 3 man front, but is good size for a 4 man front at only 6' tall.Too light. I will take him since he can bulk up. But he is not right now the lane clogging big body we need. That said, he looks on paper to be a solid addition.
We should be focusing on the Roman Empire. Why is Greenland in this topic.
That's classified. I could tell you but @oldjar07 would have to kill you.Why is Greenland in this topic.
No chance, he is busy negotiating military deals in his sleep. That's classified. I could tell you but @oldjar07 would have to kill you.
Gotcha, don't want to know thenThat's classified. I could tell you but @oldjar07 would have to kill you.
I thought it was actually the opposite. White's D played more straight up, while Butler's D-line was constantly stunting and getting out of position quite a lot of the time. That's also why we got killed on screens in the latter part of the season. Indiana has more of a hybrid approach where they can do both, sometimes in the same play, and that's my preference.Or Rhule believed that and still believes the players are capable of more. Agreed. Could see him possibly sliding to deI think it depends what type of defense we end up running. He's certainly not a NT in a 3 man front, but is good size for a 4 man front at only 6' tall.
In 2010, the DTs on NU's depth chart went 290, 285, 285 and 280. Collins and Valentine were bigger. But the weights for DTs has generally ranged between 280 and 300. RVP and Gabe Moore fit in with past DTs at NU in term of measurables.I think it depends what type of defense we end up running.
